I have towed with a Jeep Liberty very simalar to that and wait aside that trailer is WAY to long for that jeep. the Jeep has a very short wheel base and that trailer would be pushing that jeep all over the road. I towed a lite weight 19' trailer and had no problems but still wasn't winning any races. JMHO!

This trailer is listed on there by "Midwest RV Connection". Seller is "RVsbychris". It is absolutely a "dealer" of some kind.

I'm not sure airbags would create a safe situation, or any other type of hitch, swaybar, you name it. The sheer length of that trailer will throw that SUV around like a toy. THIS IS NOT SAFE. Watch the news in the summer. There is always the guy with a small vehicle who is pulling a monster trailer that ends up in the ditch upside down, with his/her family inside.

"This is not safe"...
and yet, there are people all over the world doing it with no problems. Yes, Jeep Libertys are sold all over the world, often with a different name and/or engine. The identical vehicle in Europe, I have been told, has a tow rating of more than a ton over what the U.S. version has. I wonder why?
The diesel engine is also available in Europe, but not (at the present time) in the U.S. That probably has to do with emissions.
Mine is a diesel (CRD), but I don't tow with it. Don't even have a hitch on it.

If you notice he has a small disclaimer about towing with the Jeep and that trailer.("perfectly adaquete for short distances on flat lands with no wind") Does not look like a safe combo at all. Excuse me while I hook up my fith wheeler to the subaru.

I emailed him and express my concern for what he was telling people. That is when he added the disclaimer. The following is the email i got back from him:
Because of your concern, I have added this disclaimer to my listing.
A disclaimer on my Jeep Liberty: I pull trailers that are 5500 wet weight and less with my Jeep Liberty. I am not pulling units in high winds, and I do not drive great distances. It is not the ideal vehicle to pull with trailers. However it does great on the flat land with minimal winds. It has a GVWR of 5700 so I am not afraid to use it with trailers such as this Dutchmen Lite. Many people under evaluate what their tow vehicle can handle, many buy a smaller unit with this fear. However some feel closed in within a few times of using it and notice others with larger rigs with the same vehicle in the campgrounds. They regret that they bought a small RV and end up losing tons of money in the process trading it for a larger one in a relatively short time. I have seen this several hundreds times in my 20 years as an RV salesman, Manager, and RV Business Owner. thank you=Chris Huffer

The tow ratings are higher in other countries because:
1. People are more patient and are willing to live with it taking a little longer to reach the campsite.
2. People are not so sue-happy. If they have an accident, it was an accident, not the car manufacturer's fault for telling them they could tow that much trailer, not the other driver's fault for being on the road at the same time, not the municipality's fault for not maintaining the roads...
