Man, those guys have it all wrong in SO many ways (in particular, their choice of alcohol). Here's my recipe (compliments of the folks at Maker's Mark) which has become a staple at every Winter event and has since been dubbed "Adult Milkshake" (complete with a song and dance parody of Kelis' "Milkshake").
The best thing about them (beyond the bourbon and great taste) is that since there's SO MUCH protein, you're not hungover in the morning
Ingredients:
1.75 liter Maker's Mark
1 quart milk
1 quart heavy cream
2 dozen eggs
1 1/2 cups sugar
Nutmeg for garnish
Separate eggs and beat yolks until creamy.
Whip sugar into yolks.
Beat whites until they stand in peaks.
Beat yolks and Maker's Mark together, add whites. Beat cream and add the milk to the cream.
Add cream and milk to mixture.
Add nutmeg to taste and garnish each cup with nutmeg.
Makes 2 1/2 gallons...

Jack maybe you should switch to Jack, it doesn't need any help, 'cept maybe some branch water to make it last.

Every year I have to make sure everyone knows about mychrissy's heirloom eggnog recipe. Jack, yours comes the closest yet, and sounds delicious (I absolutely agree about the bourbon!), but I think I'll continue to make Chrissy's since it is always, always such a huge hit....

I just would not do that with Maker's Mark. It is too good to mix and should only be sipped. Use something cheaper.

Looks like an interesting recipe, but it makes 2 1/2 gallons!? Really? It would take me forever to consume that much eggnog around here (small family unit).

Rick, a good half of that volume would be a lot of air, from whipping a whole quart of cream, and 2 dozen egg whites!
It's a simple matter to halve either one of these recipes. I cut Chrissy's in half and it still fills two big glass jugs. Because of the alcohol, these recipes will keep very well, I have kept it for as much as three weeks and still good.

I agree with Davydd, that you should drink Maker's Mark by itself over ice with maybe a little water. It's so smooth!
