When we were RV shopping, the saleswoman said, "You don't need a model with an oven - I've been camping my whole life and never used one."

Well, she doesn't know me! We did NOT follow her advice, and we eat very, very well when we're camping. I only wish the oven was bigger!

I think the meaning of the word "useless" sure is dependent on who is doing the talking.

Ice maker. Wife said it takes up too much room. I removed it...put the unit itself in a box in the garage...but kept the wires accessable...y'never know about the future. We make ice with ice trays. No problem. have a group of folks over? Buy a bag of ice.
Outside shower...nice idea, but they always seem to be on the driver's side of the RV. Take an outside shower...then you gotta tromp thru the dirt, whatever and get your feet dirty....idonno...
Satellite? Yep...DirecTV...take the bedroom reciever with me...put up the tripod and dish...aim it...15 minits. I don't do the setup when I'm on an overnighter...but when we snowbird or know we're staying for a week or so, I do.
Otherwise...use the CG cable. Antenna for networks is always a last resort. (My, my....remember when GETTING antenna TV was the cats' meow? How things have changed.)
With a Class A...the hydraulic jacks are worth their weight in GOLD!!!

MoRambler...we use our icemaker too....all the time! My Vodka Tonics would not be the same without ice!

MM.

Thank goodness, I was beginning to think we were the ONLY ones enjoying an adult beverage. And I sure don't like to drink them WITHOUT ice.

About icemakers, water, etc.

Am I the only one that gets a little "weirded out" about drinking the water from the fresh water tank? I guess I saw a green on the inside of one when I was a kid and I never got over it.

Ever since then, I really hesistate putting anything but city water (with the chlorine) in the tank. Just my own eeeeber jeeeebers showing, I suppose.

Anyway... I bought an icemaker that looks similar to this one:

One of the reasons that I went with one of these is because you are in control of the water going into it. I use either bottled water or city water filtered through a Brita.

I've got one in my office, as well. I've been very happy with these type of units. They make ice FAST.

air horns, spot light, roof rails, gps, gas furnace, leather upholstery, 2 meter ham radio, gas water heater, suction cup window shades, carbon monoxide alarm,
the rv parks have cable, dont use roof satellite dish. 50 amp park power will let me use all electric instead of gas. undersink water filter is not needed because i use whole house filteration. etc.

Side cameras(can see everything with proper mirrors)

Ditto that... I really thought the side cameras would be useful however the view is identical to the mirrors.

Well, things I don't have and don't miss: rear camera, satellite TV, ice maker, outdoor entertainment, washer/dryer.

One of the most important things I use is the rear camera. I can't see the toad or anything directly behind me using my mirors and can't imagine driving without it. It is a safety issue. I would like an outdoor entertainment center on this coach, don't need the washer/drier or the central vac.
