Well here is the latest.
Now WW wants the trailer sent back to California. They will not aprove a local frame shop to do the work. So now summer is here we have many weekends already booked and my trailer is possibly heading to california. So I probably wont have a trailer this year. Anyone have any idea on how long these repairs are taking.

One week is all it takes...........

However, I can't believe they are footing the bill to have it sent all the way to CA

Ya kinda suprises me too. Thats what we are waiting to see, if they want to pay for the shipping or have it done here. Its warranty work so whatever they decide they are paying for.
Figure a week to ship it there, 1 week to fix, and 1 week to ship it back. Thats not as bad as I thought. Hopefully it doesnt have to sit in california waiting for repairs.

I bought a 2008 WW FSC 3200 about 10 months ago. I have had several issues that I had to bring the hauler back to my dealer to get fixed. Two weeks ago I was supposed to bring my toy hauler in to have some other things fixed. I got a call from the service dept saying to give them a call before I bring in the hauler. Well I give them a call and find out they are no longer going to do warranty work for WW. It seems they are owed over $100,000 in past warranty work. They have not purchased any new models from WW and I now see they have been removed from WW dealer list. My dealer, Giant Recreation World in Winter Garden Florida is a pretty big dealer. They have locations in Daytona Beach and Melborne. This was a big seller for them, as the next closest dealer is in Ocala.

I was curious if anyone else has had a problem getting warranty work done? I like the hauler, but I'm not going to drive 2 hrs to have it worked on. Is WW in trouble with these pending lawsuits? Not sure if I should dump it now. I'm afraid if they go out of buisness this thing will be worthless?

Thanks

vspec... I belive if this were a smaller company then we all would be in trouble. However, weekend warrior is huge and actually not losing to much out of all this. After talking with warranty at the factory, Zieman, the manufacturer of the frames is taking the brunt of it. The frame repairs and all costs associated with the frame repairs and damage caused by the frame failure. The lawsuit against warrior on the frames explains this.

Powerforce, The only problem that i see coming out of the frame repairs or all repairs they do, is this... the failure of a frame doesnt just effect the frame. It effects everything down to the tow vehicle. Will WW continue to cover your trailer after the repairs are made? VERY important. Makesure that when taking delivery of the repaired trailer that you look for any damge caused by the frame failure and not repaired because they think it was your fault.

Update on my trailer.. not much... it is currently in transit to the factory... god bless the man towing this thing 7 hours to the facility. the rear axle isnt even aligned, the rear axle is sitting on the frame, and the rear of the trailer bouces up and down like a flag flapping in the wind...

Not that I like to promulgate rumours, but I heard from a credible source that WW will be filing chapter 13 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bankruptcy#Chapters) very shortly.

As far as big companies being in better shape in this economy, 2 words - Bear Stearns (I know I know - sub-prime bust killed BS - remember housing also fueled a lot of RV purchase as well!)

I don't know how chapter 13 would affect any warranty claims, but I think Vspec's experience would probably become more common.

The shipping company picked up my FS2500 this afternoon to take it back to WW for repairs to the frame. I was told I would have it back before Fathers day weekend so I am keeping my fingers crossed.
Hopefully this is the last of the problems I will have with this trailer. I have learned that alot of the problems I have had stemmed from the frame. see my previous posts for some of the problems I have had. I will post again when it is returned on how it went.

Did any SLC owners get a notice from WW about a recall related to lighting?

Moved to it's own thread to avoid double posting.

I have just recently purchased a 2006 WW FS2600 from a coworker. The unit looks like it is in like new condition as he was very careful to do all required maintenance. The only problems he has had was a bad fuel station pump and a blown tire. This trailer was manufactured in November 2005. Has anyone had any of the problems I have read about in the forum on this year of Weekend Warrior???

I am in the process now of getting E rated tires for it as I have read that is a safe way to go.

I have a 2005 FB2200 and my tongue is bent upwards a little over 5 inches from the base of the frame at the body to the end at the tongue. Currently in touch with WW right now as to the course of action to take. I also got the same info from Rafael that only 2000 and 2001 trailers were effected but per the law suit any model trailer built from 98 thur 06 should be eligible for repairs for any frame bending. Mine has a Zieman frame with 3/16 C-shape (not boxed) tongue material.

I have an 07 FS2500 that I have used about 7 times. Back in March I was checking it out before a 5 day weekend at Hollister and found that the frame was bent between the rear axels on passenger side. The axels were pushed over about 2-3"s therefore causing the tire to wear on the inner wheel well when loaded. One of the tires was worn comppletely smooth in the inside. Long story short, I took many pics and sent to Giant RV in Montclaire as well as WW. This was on Sunday, Monday morning I recieved a call from Giant in shock from the pics I had sent that call was followed in short order by a call from WW. WW sent a driver to my house on Wed and picked up the Trailer in Santa Rosa and 4 weeks later I received it back with a totally upgraded or new frame as well as new sink, new range, roof sag fixed, new refrig wall, floor all repaired and painted, new carpet, new tires. So basically my trailer is like new again and I am completely happy. They really stepped up to the plate for me and for that my hat is off to them. They kept saying that they would take care of everything and they did.
