I run Windows xp and have downloaded Micro Trend Anti Virus plus anti spyware. Since putting it on I can't not open any movie attachments I get in email's. When I click on them to open and tell it open it will bring up a page that cannot be found. I had no trouble with them before loading this so I think it must be it but don't know what to turn off or to do about it...
Hope someone can help me with this. I was running free AVG but it started giving me trouble with my air card so got the Micro Trend, now don't know what to do. Hate to keep sending my email's with movie attachments to my d/h's computer so I can watch them...
Thanks in advance.

Hi Rosie,
You say you had problems with AVG and your air card... can you explain a little more detail ?
I ask this because for about two years I used an air card from Cingular and had AVG installed on my laptop.. Never had a problem of any type that involved a conflict between the air card and the AVG program..
Thanks,
John

TWO CENTS WORTH
The story goes that a man died and was approached by the Devil who told him that he could buy his soul back for a dollar. The man searched his pockets and could only come up with 98 cent. While begging the Devil to forget the two cent he was short, an Angel happened by and hearing the Devil laughing, asked the man, "Would you mind if I put in my two cents ?" The Devil got so mad that he exploded in a puff of smoke and the man's soul was saved.
The moral: Sometimes putting in your two cents worth makes a difference.

I would be online with the air card a 875U with AT&T, and all of a sudden a blue screen would pop up with a lot of white writting on it, so fast I could never read it and then my computer would shut down. I would go back online and send it to microsoft and every time they would tell me it was my anti virus. I could not find out anything about, it so took it off and got the Micro Trend, which I'm not happy with since I can't down load the movie attachments I get. After getting this I wonder if may I should have just deleted AVG and reinstalled it to see if that wouldn't have taken care of the problem... May still try that if I can't find a answer for this problem.

Maybe ... and I'm guessing here... You did not completely remove all of the AVG program and the two anti-virus programs are conflicting ?
How did you remove AVG ? ... with it's un-install program or did you go to the computer's "Control Panel" and remove the anti-virus program from there ?
Why not totally remove both of the programs completely and then see if you can open and view the movie attachments ?
Then re-install one of of the anti-virus programs.. and see if everything works OK... if so, great..
If not, then un-install that anti-virus program and then install the other one...
I know it's a lot of aggravation and work Rosie... but I don't know a more simpler way to test the theory..
Good luck,
John

I had similar trouble when a Blue screen flashed up and the laptop shut down.
I believe the Blue screen showed the error code number and message.
I can't for the life of me remember exactly what I did to cure it. I remember though thinking it was over heating so I build a fan for it, then I doubled the memory.
Maybe some else will come up with the answer. If you can remember the error name or number and Goole for it there might be a cure.
If everything worked before the antivirus installs the do as was suggested and remove ALL traces of the Trend and AVG and run it for a while. I sounds like a conflict and the PC is shutting down as a protection measure.

Trend Micro IS 2007 made a mess of my computer. I uninstalled it and went to NOD 32 by ESET. My computer speed is now flawless.
