I think we're heading up to Dover to see the Warther Museum and check out Amish Country Campsites, then a little meander through the countryside. Anyone wanting to join/meet us is more then welcome.

Well, here's the latest edition of the Buckeye Bounder RV repair report.
With spring in the air and RV fever in the blood, I've had this urge (short lasting I'm sure) to fix all the items in the MH. I started out with a full page list of items that I jotted down at Evergreen.
All toilets are now fixed (another winterizing lesson and yes, I am a slower learner).
I ordered a new skylight, since there are now TWO cracks in it. Seems like it develops one per year. The replacement (not under warranty of course) will cost around $179.00. When I inquired if this is going to be a frequent event, the dealer recommended applying 303 protectant 2-3 times per year to decrease the UV effect. I guess I will follow this but I would think the skylights should hold up better than this.
I'm hoping to replace the gear on the slide-out this weekend. I think I have all tools and parts ready, but I'm sure something major will go wrong, being the optimistic one that I am.
Decided to replace the rusted screws holding the entry handle (another mark of quality). Finally found the right screw, and while trying to remove one of the screws, the tip of my quality Kobalt screwdriver broke off !!!!!! in the screw. So, after a few choice words, I'm thinking about the commercial with Jimmy Johnson using the Lowe's tools to fix all those projects. Did any of his tools break? What's that, he qualified last today? Must have used a screwdriver like mine! So, comforted by the fact that they have an unconditional guarantee (which really doesn't help me right now) I will go to Lowe's and get a replacement, and kindly ask for advice on how to NOW get that screw out!
Have fixed the water regulator (another winterizing lesson), fixed the air hose leak, obtained a locking air chuck (thanks Steve), fixed the 12 volt receptacle on the dash, fixed the velcro on the curtains, cleaned out the refrigerator, still have to fix the washer/dryer and the windshield wipers. Need to replace the generator oil and filter. And, about 8-10 other things.
Although it is very satisfying accomplishing each item, why can't it ever be a simple project? And why, as I cross an item off the list, something else breaks?
I do hope to have everything fixed for Cedar Point at the end of the month. Diesel is $4.30 today at Sam's. If we didn't enjoy RV'ing so much, including the people we camp with, I would stay home just to stick it to the oil companies.
Editor's note: They say it is the speculators that are causing the price of oil to go up. Well, maybe I should move back to Oklahoma, set up a practice, and when an oil company exec comes in, I should inform them that I "speculate" that someday they will become ill, and I'm increasing my fee by 200%. Should work.
Well, that's it for the recent report. We are really, I mean really looking forward to NASCAR in Michigan. Why? Not because we are extreme race fans, or we get to see our very first NASCAR race, or we will be with friends, or we get to see the drivers and pit and so on. No, we are excited because we will be BY OURSELVES!!! We will get to socialize with adults. Too bad we can't have campfires.
Warm regards to everyone. Planning to work on putting a fence around the pool this weekend. Oh yeah, it's supposed to rain.

We just can't stand seeing you this frustrated. We have decided to take your rig off your hands! In exchange, you'll be the proud owners of a 36' Boat and a 35' Gasser (5' shorter and 4 yrs older so all the bugs have been worked out!). As for the boat, you were looking for something different to do on vacation, weren't you?

Owning a boat has it level of frustrations that last only about 5 months a year on the Great Lakes.
