REPEAT AFTER ME...
YOU CAN'T COMPARE THE NISSANS FINAL DRIVE RATIO WITH OTHER MANUFACTURERS RATIOS!!!!
NISSAN DOES A HIGHER PERCENTAGE OF THE REDUCTION IN THE TRANSMISSION COMPARED TO OTHER MANUFACTURERS.
The Armada/Titan tow package 3.357 ratio is approximately equal to a conventionally-thought of 4.10 ratio. The earth does not revolve around a 1:1 4th transmission gear.
I love it! So true.
Not true. 2008 Armada

Reverse Ratio (:1) 2.61

2008 Armada has a 12.8688 overall 1st gear ratio (3.83x3.36) and a 2.788 overall 5th gear ratio (3.83x3.36) that is not as low as the 2008 Toyota Sequoia's 14.319 (3.33x4.30) or as high as the Sequoia's 2.537 (.59x4.30) overall 6th gear ratio that gives the 2008 Toyota Sequoia the edge at both ends.
WOW, who would have thought a 6 speed tranny would have a wider gear ratio spread than a 5 speed!! I wonder if the 5 speed is wider than a 4 speed or even a 3 speed?? DUH, thanks for the earth shattering info, again and again and again!
BTW, what is not true? If you look at YOUR OWN data, all the Sequoia tranny gears are equal to or taller than the Armadas BECAUSE the Nissan does MORE of the overall gear reduction in the transmission, where the Toy does more at the axle.
I guess rear axle ratio has nothing to do with gear reduction.

Cilly, don't waste your time. He gets it but won't acknowledge it. Just accept that the Nissan is a piece of junk and isn't in the same league as the Toyota. That it is as he defined "weenie" Also, accept that Nissan designers must have hi-jacked all the files from the Toyota engineering servers to build the Armada.
The performance and experience you are enjoying from your Nissan is a hallucination, it isn't real and PSD will rid you of the image after you let him in.

Well, I'll tell you this, PSD you did a fine job of backing up a statement (for the first time in a long time)....well done! Seriously.
Tundra/Sequoia's spread is fantastic...no one here said differently. But I have never heard a Titan/Armada owner wish they had "more gears" either. This only came about because someone mentioned rear end ratios like it was plug-and-play, everyone's on the same playing field.....when that's not the case at all.

Ceck the specs of the vehicles out here (courtsy of Ford) Vehicle specs
Nissan, Toyota and Chrysler use Edmunds to compare vehicles and they leave out the 5.7 Hemi. Not sure why, but Ford uses Polk and the comparisons are better IMO (closer to apples to apples). The Expy EL is really starting to grow on me, although the price of the Aspen can't be beat. The Nissan 9.3 GB Music Box hard drive and compact flash slot feature is cool, but I can plug in my IPod/MP3 player in the Chrysler, Ford, and Toyota for the same if not better results based on recording type.
Overall, all are very capable tow vehicles, none are "weenies" and I don't think any will "blow the doors" off each other. Well ok the Aspen will smoke them all

Those are some good specs, at least all in the same place and pretty clear info. That is important when shopping and you have like 11 brochures with various ways of listing options in packages or by single addition. It gets confusing! Hard to make good comparisons that way.

Agreed, it would be a riot. I think the only place I actually do drink anymore is after I have setup the fiver and have the chairs out.
What happened? I used to do it all the time? Is that what happens when you turn 40?

I don't drink anymore, I take in all my beer intravenously, I just hang the bag on the awning and it does not matter if it gets flat, that taste stuff is overrated anyway.
