I used to tow my E4 with a 2006 Ford F-150 with a modified 5.4L engine. The 7000lb PUP was just too much for it over the mountains and it died a horrible death. It was replaced by a 2008 Dodge Ram 3500 SRW Cummins. The diesel is far better for towing.

We just bought a Fleetwood Westlake, and will be towing it with my wife's Jeep Commander (XK) with the 5.7 liter in it. Should pull just fine. I'm also having my Wrangler (4 door JK) re-geared, so we can use it too. The Commander is a far better tow pig, and far more comfortable, but for fun factor-- the wrangler needs to be an option

We pull an E2 with an F150 FX4, 4.6L, helper springs, and I think...3.75 gears. It does ok but if I had it to do over it would be an F250 with at least a 5.4L!

Sweet rig Eurocamper! What kind of mileage do you get?

If I keep it to about 60 mph I get about 20-21 mpg when not towing and about 16-17 when towing.

I pull my 2900 dry weight Trail Manor with a Jeep Liberty. 3.7L V6 and auto-trans. I am sure it weighs well over 3,000 pounds when loaded. I installed a Hayden Trans Cooler and my Jeep dealer installed the extra wiring and my Draw Tite brake controller. The hitch is a weight distribution unit. It pulls these passes around here without a problem. I add a container of Lucas transmission additive for additional protection.

A little extra protection for the trans is always wise. My Jeep dealer adds an additive when changing transmission fluid. Additives are always controversial, but, in the case of HD towing I think it is a necessity.

Nice pics! You failed to explain the presence of the 06-07 SRT8 GC.... Very nice.

I bought that when the SRTs were first introduced. Had it for a couple of years, modded the heck out of it (no performance stuff aside from intake and exhaust) appearance-wise and sold it in October of 07. It was a ton of fun. Great ride for sure!
