Even if this was a gasser (and priced accordingly), I wouldn't consider it "high mileage". Low mileage is an advantage that only applies to cars. Higher mileage is a plus in a motorhome. It means it was driven regularly. The average miles driven for a motorhome is NOT relevant. It is not about comparing to other motorhomes, it is about considering the resulting condition based on how it was used. I know of a gasser with nearly 300K on and all that has ever been done is routine maintenance. It is driven regularly and properly maintained. When you look at typical usage numbers, it explains why many older motorhomes have new engines. Because only driving 5K a year kills the engine and is hard on the coach body as well. If the motorhome sits for long periods of time without being used, you will find many electrical problems because all the connectors corrode because the moister is never burnt out of the coach. High mileage is a plus when it comes to motorhomes.

Get a VIN and contact Country Coach directly. They may very well have information on the coach, not just the engine, and its history that would be of interest to you. Good luck.

We run a lot of our class 8 road tractors with Cummins engines pulling 80K gross weight, which btw is about like pulling another motor home with yours, and even the M11 series engines will run 6 or 7 HUNDRED THOUSAND MILES without needing a rebuild if you maintain them correctly. The engine is the least of your worries if it has been properly maintained. IMHO Cummins engines are about as bullet proof as you can buy.

Looks like this Coach is in the ball park. If the unit looks a feels A+ as you have indicated and you like it go for it.

In truth that maybe your biggest worry but not too many miles but too few miles.
The coach has only averaged 11,000 miles a year and that's not what diesels were made for. They were made to run.
Do as previous post said. have it checked out and if ok .then you make the call!!

Come on! We have had our diesels sit for a year or so, when we need it or them we jumped the battery, took it to the shop, changed the oil, check the fluids and the thing runs fine. Do you really think that engine is going to fall apart if it is only ran 11,000 miles or less? I don't think so, I would snatch that coach up in a minute!

Give me a break RetiredBlade..

I didn't say it couldn't sit or low mileage was the end all. I simply stated that low mileage could be harder on a diesel than if it was being used regularly. It's my understanding that diesel engines are designed to run often and can run for many many miles...

As the poster was concerned that the mileage was too high, I was making the point that he should not worry about 92,000 miles on a nine year old coach. To me that would be the least of his worries buying this coach. Tires for example..roof seals..etc..

If you read my whole post I end by telling him to check the coach out and then make his own decision...

You are going to go crazy reading all the advice you are recieveing.I have driven diesel trucks over the road for 38 years. Some of the rigs were properly maintained and some were not and all the rigs I drove made it to over half million miles including the ones that were not pm'd on a regular basis.I guess what I'm trying to say is if you want the unit and it fits your budget go for it. That rig will run for a long time, diesels are rugged and made to last Of course there are exceptions like if you pull out the dip stick and the oil looks like tar run the other way, but I bet that won't be the case. Most class A campers are just that class A and take pride in their rigs. JFYI I bought my rig with 100'000 miles on her and she is just getting broke in.Unless your are loaded with money and can afford all the oil and water analysis gimmicks, just take it to a reputable diesel shop and have them check it out. Good luck

That's good, they are (by law) service contracts, not "warranties" and are a BIG money maker for the seller, about 50% of the cost is profit for them. A few years ago the industry average was 2% payout on service contracts.

This maybe true but it is peace of mind for some people! I am having some work done to my unit as we speak and I know that my part will be $200.00. I bought my warranty at half the going rate and glad I did!
