Anyone have an update on the water levels at Lake Cumberland? I understand the levels are down approx. 40 feet from normal to fix the dam.

Also, any recommendations for places to camp with a family with sites on/near the lake? Would prefer full hookups, but could do with electric only.

We're thinking about doing a camping/boating vacation of about a week next summer.

water level is still pretty low, we have a house boat on Cumberland and are keeping it docked for now. I would suggest to Google Somerset or Monticello for CG's.

Conley Bottom has a campground right on the water, don't know about the ater level there. It is about in the middle of the lake. /some full hookups, mostly electric only.

The lake is really low; we have a cabin on one of the "bends" east of the dam. In May of last year, we went over to the dam and it looks quite low.

We found that it didn't affect our swimming or boating, but I can imagine the house boats having a difficult time!

I also found an article with an update here.

We're hoping to go in July this year. Love to swim in the lake; grew up there.

If lake Cumberland water level is still low, would lake Barkley be a good alternative?

We are looking to do one of those houseboat vacations next summer.

Head about 75 miles south of Lake Cumberland to Dale Hollow Lake on the Kentucky-Tennessee border. Lots of houseboat rental places, larger than Cumberland, same clean water and beautiful scenery,a little harder to get to. Looks like Dale Hollow has some lake level issues too, however.
