Hope this works out to be true... my family's first outing ever will begin in late February and although heading South, we'll be starting out from Ohio and I know it's miserably cold there in the winter.

I'm sure you'll find enough of a weather window to get you south of the snow line after about a one-day drive. We did it from Michigan before. You just need some patience. And welcome home.

well were over a foot above normal for snow so far this month been below 0 a few times and most of the highs have been in the 20s or below.warming up into the 30s next few days with wind and rain comeing, will just have to wait and see , would be nice to have the rest of the winter to be a easy one havent really seen a good one yet. ski centers are happy and busy for this time of year.ill believe it when i see it.

Predicting a lot warmer than normal weather doesn't do it for me, as I sit watching it snow over an inch an hour with 30 MPH winds. I've already seen more winter this winter than the last 4 combined. Just hoping for a "window" so I can GET to that warmer than normal part of the country.

I second with Skipnchar, this while not so far the coldest winter I remember is pretty sickening with sleet and snow today.

This winter sure is warmer in Korea... so far! I just washed my car this weekend and I couldn't have done that this time last year or year before... way too cold normally and water would have frozen on the car. Could just be a prelude to worst things on the horizon, but Seoul in the winter typically is miserable!!!

It sure ain't warmer here in Topeka, we came here from the RGV to cool off. All the heat in the RGV was getting to us, 70 to 85 most days. I was ready to go back when I heard the forcast for Saturday. Would you believe that I just really missed shoveling snow, (NOT!).

We need a Weather Forum where a poster can give local current weather and local forcast for the benefit of Snowbirds in transit, especially between now and mid January.

Well, I would like to have taken the guy that wrote that article
and plunked him out in my back yard yesterday with 88 mph wind
gusts clocked and below 0 windchills, and see if he thought this
was a warmer winter.
