Well, kids are getting older and are starting to see the signs of not wanting to go camping with mom and dad. I luv my PUP and won't trade it for the world, but the other side bed is a king size, what can I do with all that room that will be useful. DH says put a 47" flat screen tv in it place? Any ideas? Would like to know if any other PU owners have incountered this same problem, I know this is just extra space but I am looking for really good idea besides a storage place.
Happy Holidays.

Take the mattress out and you have a large flat surface that could serve many purposes. Of course I'm with your hubby on the tv idea, 47" flat screen sounds like a great idea. Maybe a kegerator and cocktail bar?
But you could also use some quality stackable drawers for clothing; dirty laundry hamper; counter space for food prep; large lazy-susan could make accessing items easier; that's about all that comes to mind at the moment. I know I would love to have 40 sq ft of surface area in my TT!

Our extra bunk becomes a storage area for bins holding food, clothes, coats, and my camera equipment....essentially the stuff we don't leave in the camper between trips. It's nice to keep the counters and floors clear.

We used ours for storage and for "early morning reading when you don't want to wake your bed buddy"...

call me old fashion but I think time with the family is the most beautiful time ever. Even if it meant to get rid of your favorite PUP it would keep the family camping together and and the kids off the streets while you are out camping. I'm proud that my wife and I raised 4 good kids and did it while taking them all camping and they still camp with us to this day. I am blessed every day and thankful for that.

I make mine go. My oldest is 22 {recently moved back home} and my youngest is 16. We dont get to go that often, so I plan shorter trips of 3 nights or so and simply make them go. If you chose a fun spot, they will enjoy it, if not, it's only for a few days. When they are both on their own and cant go, i will hope for grandkids and then take them.

We often use our spare bunk for storage, but also sometimes invite non camping or tent camping friends to use it. We've had kids, oldsters, dogs, all kinds of interesting friends join us.

Way back before we had my DS, the 1st DW and I would bring the back mattress and put it on top of ours. and since we had cross bunk end curtains we could hide a lot of junk in the back bunk...LOL
