We have been fulltiming for almost 4 years now and never could have gotten started without you and the others on this site. During these years on the road everyone on this site have helped us solve many problems and avoid many more. Thanks for being here and I look forward to many more years here with all of you.

Well, two days ago was my 4th anniversary. I had decided next summer I'm getting a camper. & I googled 'fiberglass camper' and landed on an rv.net thread. Can you imagine how few moments it took me to decide to join.
Or how much reading I did?
& I, I took the road less travelled by.

Hi,
You guys where lucky to find this site in the early days of using the internet.
I made many posts on AskMe.com before that web site was shut off - the company was not making any money on the site by advertizing, so they pulled the plug. This is one of the "Replacement" sites for that one.
If you think about it, back in 2000, the internet as we know it today, it was only a few years old. My dad bought one of the first home computers back in 1977 - a Radio Shack TSR 80 with 4 Kilobytes of memory and the storage on cassette tapes. Later upgraded to 16K. The modem was rated at 900 baud in his 1982 Morro Designs computer with 64K of memory and 5-1/4" floppies.
For those interested, 900 Baud is about 2% as fast as dial up connections. So a 15 seconds required to upload a page might on dial-up would take 14 minutes at 900 baud.
Fred.

I was using bulletin boards from the early 80s. Then the internet. Been an AOL member since 1992 with the same moniker. It amazes me just how long many have been doing this stuff.
