I received this clarification from Kim Ochs, the park manager about payment for the camp sites.
Update: 01/25/08:I just received clarification concerning payment for the sites within the group camping area. As mentioned, these sites cannot be reserved through Austin, but are tied to the reserving the dining hall, which I have already taken care of. If you are assigned to one of the 14 sites within the group camping area, you will pay for the night's camped when you arrive at the park. If you don't have an annual Texas State Park Pass, you will be responsible for a $3.00 per day entrance fee.
Kim Ochs, the park manager, and a very good friend of mine, will have the group area gates open for those that will be arriving on Thursday. I am also working with Kim to provide a nature oriented program for us sometime on Saturday.
So there is no money due until you arrive at the park.
All sites have now been assigned within the group camping area. If you'd like to attend our Fall Rally, please call the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department's reservation line - 512.389.8900. Please see the original post for additional information.
The "Post Oak Camping Area" is the closet to the Group Camp and the Dining Hall.
Let's welcome Bob & Diane (dberner) to our October Central Texas Rally. They were in attendance at Loyd Park this past October. Welcome Bob & Diane, we're so glad you'll be joining us! They've made their reservations in the "Post Oak" camping area.
The year is moving fast, only 6 months until the rally! That amazing to me. It seems like we just finished up at RV Ranch.
I do hope everyone is having a nice relaxing summer and trying to stay somewhat cool. This coming week in the DFW area is going to really be a hot one! Ick, I'm definitely ready for Fall and cooler temperatures.
Around the middle of August I want to confirm with each of you to make sure you are still planning on attend the October rally. So please watch for a PM (Private Message) from me and do respond to it. I just want to make sure we fill all the sites and none are left empty. I do have folks that I can move into the group camping area if you are not planning on attending.
