Hi: It's more than worth it to me. We have used a lot of their services when there was a need. I have no problem with throwing out the mail I don't want and I would continue my membership just to have the magazine. Bill

I like the magazine. I also belong to FMCA, I like the magazine. And AAA, I like the magazine. If membership becomes more than the value of the magazine I will reconsider.

One does not have to belong to the Good Sam "club" to purchase Good Sam Emergency Road Service.

We joined the "National Organization" for the discounts, but rarely ever use campgrounds (mostly State Parks). However through the National Organization we discovered our local chapter, that we enjoy immensely. They have a camp out every month somewhere in the middle Tennessee - northern Alabama area. They are a great group of people. I like to read the magazines every month as well. For us we enjoy the membership for other purposes besides camping discounts.

No IMO. We were previously members of Good Sam for years, but did not renew, as we have not found it to offer us any benefits, and was not impressed with the magazine. Use Coach Net for Emergency service and have better coverage for our insurance on MH. Never did attend their rallies and have no interest in them.

For me personaly Good sam is worth it ... i get comparable road side service as i used to get from AAA.. i get better insurence on my RV than i did with geico where i live.. and being a good sam member already i switched my car's insurence from geico to good sam (by gmac) since gmac covered more for the same price.. and got an aditional 10% off my car insurence because i was a good sams member and my rv was insured by them bringing my car insurence lower than geico where i live.
so i save more money each year on just my car insurence than the cost of the cood sam membership alone ... good deal for me .. every other benefit is just gravy. BTW the magazine is pretty good.
but i will say its not for everyone .. look and see if it helps you if not then it may be a waste.
BTW i get less mail from Good sam than all the dang mail trying to get me to refinance my college loan (i never went to college or got a loan) or the dang credit card offers.

Good Sam is a lot more than camping discounts. You get camping discounts, Disney ticket discounts, discounts at some outlets, fuel discount, you can shop through good sam and getmoney back with the smile savers. We fully enjoy our membership and became life members about 3 years ago. We camp with a chapter as well.

We found that our FMCA membership was as good as the GS, but we bought a lifetime GS membership back when it was $175 so we still have it. Just joined a local GS chapter earlier this year so we are getting a little use out of it now.
Not impressed with the GS magazine either as it usually a bunch of letters telling how good they are and not much else. I save every magazine but the GS ones, look through it once and toss it. I have most of my FMCA magazines for the last 10 years or so.

Joined GS for the ERS--is it true you dont have to have a membership to have the ERS?--course since I cancelled AAA they were too expensive and service is getting pickier as to where and how far they will tow -will probably keep GS for the little discount we get at CG's--
