Another way to cut through the c*&# is to offer to be the special courier yourself. I had an insurance company tell me a couple of times that they mailed a check to an auto body repair and had the auto body shop telling me that they never received it. Rather than play that game any more, I advised the insurance company to stop payment on any previous checks and that I would be by within the hour to pick up the replacement. There was a lot of stammering on the other end but I was there, got the check and hand carried it. In Texas, they can put a mechanic's lien on my vehicle and I wasn't about to let it go there. It cost me 50 miles round trip and it was worth every penny that I paid for it. JMHO

BBB's are nothing more than public relations firms of sort. They try to keep a list of complaints so if you call them, they have some info. They have no enforcement power and cannot help resolve problems like this. If the dealer hasn't followed through as they stated, I agree with contacting the state people in charge of banks. That will get their attention.

I had the same problem with a dealer in Florida. I contacted the state of Florida, department of motor vehicles to get the exact information regarding how long the dealer has to payoff the trade-in lien. Armed with that information, I contacted the dealer again and told them the name of the person I spoke with the state and what their time limit was. Things moved along a lot faster after that.

Find out what the law is in your state - there is a time limit that any dealer is allowed in which to complete the payment to the trade-in. Make sure you ask about recreational vehicles not automobiles as it may be different. If they don't meet that, the dealer risks losing their license or having to pay a fine.

Until you contact the state, you don't really know how much time the dealer has, you only know what you think is a reasonable amount of time.

Just a minor bump in the road when it's all over you have your self a NEW TT.
Enjoy, the bad taste will leave with the first camping trip.

As one of my earlier post says, I do not recommend Banning RV, the sales dept or the service dept. I will never do business with them again, based on my experience with them. I hope your situation turns out okay. I would also want to be sure the bank hasn't reported any late payments or anything negative to the credit bureaus.

n every case I've gone through the BBB I've found them to be absolutely worthless. I will NEVER use them for anything.

Same here! I think they (and RIVA) are in bed with their affiliated businesses.

It is my understanding that the former loan is your responsibility until it is paid off. Please stay on top of it with the bank as your credit rating is at stake. Hopefully by this time the dealer has paid off the loan. If they haven't, maybe a call from your bank will help push it through. There is a time limit the dealer has to pay off the loan. In FL, the Dept. of Motor Vehicles is the department to issue the RV license. Good Luck.
