Tanks!

The deposit is on a View 23J. I'll go see it in a week or so, and I'm willing to eat the deposit if it doesn't pass muster, but it's got a warranty (limited).

Now I'm not going to say anything else lest I jinx it!

Shhhhhhhhhh.

CruisinSusan, just a suggestion. Before you buy be sure to take the unit to a truck stop and weigh it, then subtract that weight from the GVWR so you'll know how much stuff you can carry. I've heard a lot of horror stories about units that could only hold a hundred pound or less without being over loaded.

And, congrats and that dream is out here waiting for you.

Wooza! 100lbs or less? This is on the Views? I hadn't even thought of that.

Good luck CruisinSusan. I know you will keep us updated. The View looks prety cute to me and easy to handle.

Not necessarily on the Views, just on RV's in general. I couldn't find any listings on the curb weight of a View, but it's something a lot of people don't think about and so they end up grossly overloaded which opens up a whole new can of worms.

I did find a review on the Navion which is a "sister" coach to the View and it stated -
FMCA REVIEW wrote:

With a full tank of diesel fuel on board (26.4 gallons), a full tank of fresh water, and LP gas, plus two adults and their personal gear inside — and provisions to last a week — the test coach tipped the scales at 9,820 pounds. The coach's gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) is 10,200 pounds, so we had 380 pounds leftover for more gear, if we needed it. This relatively small carrying capacity is something that needs to be taken into consideration when packing for vacation and/or when hauling additional passengers.

And that was packed for a "vacation" not for fulltiming. When you're going away for a week you have a lot less "stuff" than when everything you own is on board.

Have not put the house up for sale yet. We are painting and sprucing up then hopefully on the market in about 2-3 months. We can't wait to get going the full time way.

Word Of Warning: DO NOT sell your vacuum at your garage sale if your closing is a week away and you have 2 cats and have let 100s of people tromp through your house to buy stuff.

Otherwise, you'll feel *really* stupid asking a friend if you can borrow their vacuum. It's one thing to ask for a cup of milk for the pancakes....but a *vacuum*???

*Ahem*
