I have a chance to buy a new set of Tork Lift tiedawons for $275.00 for my 1999 Ford. The only problem is the rears are for a OEM Hitch and will not work with my Reese. My main question is there any market to sell the rears and and buy the correct part or should I just buy a new complete set? I could also use the fronts and stay with my Happijac rears but I don't know if that poses any problems. Thanks.

Are you sure they won't work? I suggest calling Torklift and double checking. If they are the kind that slip into the open end of the hitch you might just need the adapter that lets them fit a larger opening.

Also you might want to try them before giving up. I was told my 04 rears wouldn't fit my 07 due to a slightly different mounting angle but they work just fine.

No I am sure since the reese doesn't have an opening in the end of the receiver. The part I need will have a flat plate that will bolt to the side of the receiver.

All you really need is the mount arms that will bolt to the Reese (after drilling), unfortunatley they dont sell em seperatly. I went thru that when I switched recievers and had to replace the rear Torklifts.
A competetant welder could cut and add the bolt plate to rear mount &bolt to your Reese ?
Actually youd only be saving bout a hundred bucks over new, plus paying to modify or odering just the rears not sure if youd save anthing. http://store.towshop.com/store/products.asp?page=2&Category_ID=144 is one of the places for prices..

Keep in mind that Reese says not to cut, weld or drill on your Reese hitch.

That't what I did, I have a Dodge, however, the Torklifts used the holes I needed for the Reese hitch. I drilled holes in the side of my Reese hitch and mounting the Torklifts to it. No problems in two + years.

The Tork Lift is a good product for keeping the camper in the truck but that is about it. I had some on my Silverado and the camper was all over the place. I switched to Happijac and the moving stopped. I now feel like the camper is part of my truck. The Tork Lift bars were allowing the camper to sway and one side would go limp and then bang tight. I didn't want my camper damaged like my friends camper. I think the frame can also be damaged too. I have been very happy with Happijac. I spoke with other camper owners at the campground and they have been very happy with the service and products of Happijac. They make excellent electric jacks too.
