Has anyone who owns this unit weighted it on scales. I really like the model, but the pin weight may put me over the GCWR of my 2005 Dodge Quad Cab CTD shortbed. Any information about the actual weight of the unit would be appreciated. Thanks.

Great taste there Ram...we are looking at the same unit. I'm interested to see what it weighs as well. My TV is a 2004 Ford F250 PSD 7.3 liter Super Cab Long Bed. My GVWR is 8800. Gross combined is 20,000. Anyone out there think I can tow this trailer without any modifications to the TV?

Thanks for any info you guys may be able to provide us!

You may have already looked there, but the Jayco site shows the following weights:
Unloaded Vehicle Weight (lbs.) 8,260
Dry Hitch Weight (lbs.) 1,565
Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (lbs.) 10,700
Cargo Carrying Capacity (lbs.) 2,440

I purchased that same model 5er back on November 2nd and have been on two trips with it. The last trip was a seven day trip that we got back from yesterday. We went to Desoto State Park in Fort Payne Alabama. Very Mountainous and I had no problem pulling it at all. I have not actually had it on the scales yet but surly that Cummings would not have any problem with it.

The first weight limit violated is usually the GVWR of the truck. (You said GCWR but then talked of pin weight, so I think you meant to type GVWR.) I suspect most single rear wheel pickups with average size 5th wheels are exceeding their GVWRs. My trailer is small, but if I ever go to a larger 5th whl I suspect my GVWR will be exceeed PDQ. I think a more serious consideration is the maximum weight rating for the rear axle of the truck, the GAWR Rear. This will typically permit more pin weight. It is the limit I plan NOT to exceed.

My brother in law has an 07 31.5bhds. A few changes on the innards, but the same basic frame. It actually reads a little higher on the weight. He tows his with an 07 dadge ram "club cab" hemi. I wish it didnt pull as good as it does-Id love to give him flak about a dodge. He weighed and came in at 14700. Your cummins will have NO problem with this trailer!
