We're going from Arkansas to Florida in June and are trying to plan our route. We need help finding a good campground in Jackson Hattiesburg MS. area to stop over in for one night. Does anyone have a recommendation.

Dad,Mom,3 kids (son 14, daughters 12,10)and a very old golden retriever. Add one very little Golden. Gulf Stream StreamLite 29QBH. '08 Tundra, 5.7L CrewMax, Equa-L-izer hitch, Prodigy brake controller.

Run 78 out of Memphis instead(better roads). There are some decent parks along the way.

I would also recomend taking Hwy 78 to Hwy 45 South and possibly stay at Clarko State Park just south or Meridian MS.

From Meridian, MS, take SR 19 N for 8 mi and follow signs into the campground.

you can reserve on www.recreation.gov

Nice, quiet, on lake. Not fancy. Not sure if it would be out of the way if you come at it from the North.

Have a safe trip! We go to Arkansas once a year from Florida. Wave as you go by!
