bowtiebill-After looking at your link again , I remembered one of the problems. Look at the large radius on the corners and angled sides of the conversions then look at the almost square corners and strait sides of stock sealed beams.

Just got back from my first long trip with a lot of night driving with my 2006 Gulf Stream C5500. I thought my high beams were fine. The low beams were weak or perhaps pointed too low (too close-in.)

Al,
I read/heard that some 4x6 lights are actually 4.5x6.5, I wonder if that is what you got.
Look at these, they seem to look like the same type corners as the originals.
IPCW 4x6 lights
Might be an option, maybe a phone call would give a ya or nay. I have dealt with Stylin Trucks quite a few times, good experiences.
Good luck,
Bill

az99 wrote: Is there anything new to replace the pitiful Kodiak headlights ? I know it had been discussed last year. I tried the Silver Stars which made very minimal improvement and I also tried the aftermarket buckets someone had posted part #'s for. They do not fit in the stock Kodiak base and would require more modification to the headlight base and frame than I wanted to do.
I was hoping someone found a new easy install fix.
Thanx
I was glad to see someone post about this problem again. I have an 07 Greyhawk Kodiak with the 4 light sealed beam system also. I have not had time to play with any adjustments, but I totally agree with you. As it comes from the factory the low beams are just about useless. The high beams are fine, but the low beams really are pitiful. I can't believe they let them leave the factory in this condition. I don't know if it it is a design problem or what, but it needs to be addressed by the manufacturers. I am thinking about mounting some accessory lights on the bumper. If anybody solves this problem without spending a bunch of money, please let us know about it.

I swapped my original sealed beams for the diamond cut 4x6's, and I found that the new 4x6's were a bit loose in the OEM frame that holds them in place. I added some foam tape around the perimiter of the new lights so they wouldn't rattle. So from my experience, it looks like the frame is really 4x6.5. So both will fit, but the 4x6's will be a bit loose.

That looks very promising, and not a bad price for all 4 lights if they work well. Please let us know ASAP how they work out. I have to do something, the stock "low" beams are next to nothing.

I know, trying to find a space at the RV park at night was nearly impossible. So, I also ordered some fog lights to help at these times.

I have my regular beams aimed down a little and drive with the high beams on most of the time. Hasn't seemed to offend oncoming traffic.
I'd rather have a good set of lights and use them properly.
