I know, trying to find a space at the RV park at night was nearly impossible. So, I also ordered some fog lights to help at these times.

I have thought about fog lights but where do you mount them and where are you purchasing them ?

How about in those two square holes in the bumper?

Yeah I know what you mean - but good headlights don't seem to help much in that situation - it always seems to be at right angles to where the headlights are shining. I put 2 sets of HIDs on the front of my Kodiak and it doesn't help much when looking to the side. For that purpose, I would like to add a (remote controlled) spotlight like Stryker search lights. But they're a bit pricey, so meanwhile I make do with a powerful handheld flashlight. Another situation that could use lighting improvement is when navigating those tight campground loops at night. There's invariably some tree or the edge of the pavement that you have to just miss in order to make the turn, and you can't see it back by the rear wheels because it's too dark. For that, I want to add Guide Lites. That's my next project.
I might add that I've never encountered a campground loop road that could not be navigated in the Kodiak. Any bigger, and it would not make some of them - but it's just barely small enough and maneuverable enough to do it. It's been a great performer.

Thanx for that link. I will be within a few miles of that place in a few days. That unit looks like it should be a direct replacement. I will take one of my bulbs along.

I will mount them somewhere on the bumper, probably as near the sides as possible since I want as wide as possible light when I use them.

That is a really good idea. A couple on the side facing forward and a couple facing backwords would be really helpful. Fortunately, the RV park I was at had pull-thrus. It was unlit though and it was very hard see where the road was and where the spaces were.

You should check with them first. These headlights were on backorder but they are expecting them this week.

It looks like we have a solution to the problem. I picked up the lamp housings shown in the above link. They are a direct replacement for the stock 4656 sealed beams. I actually tried them. You can use any H4 bulb that you want in them. They come with a wiring adapter socket to plug into the stock plug and adapt to the H4 bulb. The H4 bulbs are available in anything from stock wattages to offroad power.
Thanx again for the link.

I happen to own this flashlight Brinkmann Q-Beam (Blue Max) and would take it along if I had a need. Used it to locate lost cattle at night. Mine is older and only has 200,000 candlepower.

Kinda getting a bit off-topic here, but I can't resist when it comes to flashlights... my son says I have a "flashlight fettish"!
I recently tried an (estimated) 30 MILLION candelpower HID handheld spotlight. It had a lead-acid battery in it. We couldn't see how far it really shined because the clouds got in the way! It was spectacular. Sams club was selling them. Here's the exact unit

Same here I carry this one with me. Makes setting up at night a cinch.
