We are planning a trip to Florida in the spring and would like to stop at Fl. Caverns and Stephen Foster State Parks. We have a big rig and concerned about getting into a site. If anyone has been to these 2 parks and can give me some information about specific sites I'd really appreciate it.

Reserve America who does FSP reservations list the details of each campsite on their CG maps including site length, amount of shade and any problematic obstructions. I have found most of the info accurate.

Florida Caverns State Park has sites that are large enough for you rig. Sorry, I don't know the site numbers.

The problem with Florida State Parks is not the depth of sites but the trees in the way of backing into them with a big rig. We are only 32' and have struggled getting into spots. The parks are great but they were built before 30+ rigs were common. You also have to be very careful on the narrow dirt roads within the campgrounds.

Go to Florida State Parks web site and check out each site. They are listed and posted as availability and all the other necessary info.

Last summer we stayed in site 1 at Florida Caverns, nice site. I also remember that there was a MH in site 4. So, I feel sure you could get into either of those. I'm not sure about the others.

Stephen Foster State Park is one of our favorites. Very quiet, peaceful. Large, level pull throughs easy for large RV. Not much to do there except hike and canoe on river, but for peace and quiet you can't beat it.
Also check out the newest Florida State Park at Ocala. Silver River. Nice, gravel pull throughs, easy for a large RV.
Enjoy!
