Gezzer's cataract surgeon took a really good long look at his eyes prior to the surgery because Gezzer has diabetes also. No sign of any problems from the diabetes. Even tho Gezzer gets a good eye exam every year, it was good to have an expert (Gezzer's surgeon teaches eye surgery) take a look at him.

Safe travels,

Had both eyes done about 5 years ago, 3 weeks apart. Aside from the cataracts, it got rid of the "coke bottles". Now I carry "wally specials" for some of that fine print. The ONLY problem I have, is there are times that my arms "aren't long enough". 'know what I mean?????

Right eye was done in '92, left eye in '06. Had surgery to correct detached retina in right eye in Sept. Vision is fine, 20/20 with corrective lenses.

Would I have it done again? Do I want to see? Thankfully, I haven't done anything yet they can't fix.

I have Diabetes Type II, and have a yearly followup. Diabetes has been known to cause vision problems, so it's a good idea to have regular checks even if you do not have cataracts.
I have all my medical work done through the VA (I'm 30% disabled vet). I've heard a lot of flack about poor care from the VA, but I'm more than satisfied. (Just a free commercial for those over-worked folks)

I had both eyes done a few years back. I can now see better 20/20. I would do it again. There is a little discomfort for a couple of days but a Tylenol took care of it.

Good luck

Had both eyes done 2 years ago. Left eye was the worst and went from 20/200 to 20/15 vision. Right eye was not so bad, but went to 20/20.

Saved me the price of an HD TV!

Thanks Everyone. I had my right eye done on January 14th. It was slow to come around but gets better every day. I wasn't sure if I would have the left one done at first, as my left eye was better than the right, however now it is the result I had hoped for. I go back to the surgeon on Friday and will schedule my left one then. Jim
