It appears you can take OKanagan off the list altogether, what with the TC unit shutting down on Sept 12th.

Eagle Cap Campers is doing some customized builds.
You might want to enquire with them.

I was very impressed by the EC950's durability and will always consider them and option.

I really do not see what the big deal is. Ask yourself if your current camper developed a leak today and you found out it was leaking say a month or two down the road. What would you do? Be honest with yourself. I know what I would do and it would not matter if it was aluminum framed or wood frame I would still do the same thing. The fact is I like nice things that do not leak and do all the things I want them to do comfortably. I was on the General Coach website last night looking at the factory build pics and write up of Citations news toyhualer ......... low and behold they are back to wood frame. Check it out , it's a dandy http://www.generalcoach.bc.ca/polarbear.htm

I know this is not what you're looking for but it just goes to show that a company that has used aluminum in the past is now back to using wood. Not sure why but it seems canadian manufactures really prefer wood.

It's the leak I don't see that concerns me most.

Mooney,

Good luck with your selection. I am sure Host builds nice campers and they are within a day's drive from where I live. This is becomming an important consideration since the dealers seem to be unable to fix more than minor issues and many seem to be taking campers back to manufacturers for repairs. While I like the Okanagan and Bigfoot campers making a trip to Canada to get a camper fixed is a little far for me.

The Host Everest is a great looking unit and is a consideration.

You are probably diligent at checking out your camper as I am for leaks. Evry month or so in the rainy months in particular I check all area's of the camper , all inside corners , carpet edges , around windows, and in all cabinets and compartments for any moisture or dampness. I truely believe that if a camper were to leak and you are always on the look out the unseen leak would eventually be found well prior to something like a jack ripping off a corner. Major rot that deteriorates the whole corner of a camper to allow a jack to come off doesn't happen over night and not with out signs of a leak. With a well built wood camper such as OK or SR and others out there you will have a strong yet flexable camper frame that has a much better thermal break as compared to Aluminum studs.
