I hear you moderator........However, Whim, wouldn't you agree that the first step of elemination of drug exposed kids on public assistance is IDENTIFICATION?....I believe that EVERYONE desrves a second chance but how do they get the chance if they are not identified?

Drug exposed kids become drug using parents!....Not always, but if it's ALL they learn/know.......It's time to break the cycle before the cycle breaks us......!

I'm in favor of something else: no welfare of any kind under any circumstances unless and until the parents are sterilized. Break the cycle.

LOL at Jaraxle.I think it's a great idea.If a parent refuses to stop using drugs all benefits should cease. If you allow your children to go hungry because you want to get high that is your problem, not the taxpayer. To be quite frank with you I dont know why we pay people to lay around the house.

I have in laws that are in their late 30's that have never had a job, they milk the system for every dollar they get. These are healthy people that sleep till noon and lounge around their tax payer provided apt sipping beer and smoking weed.Their kids had stated getting a job is for an idiot.

Nothing would make me happier to see this sorry bunch get cut off and if they dont feed their kids let the state step in and take their kids.

Why should I care if they dont feed their kids,I take care of mine, they can take care of their own.

We waste way too much time, energy and dollars on these losers that have no intention of ever be a taxpaying producting member of society.

I think anyone on social services for more than 2 yrs should be denied the priviledge to vote.

I think most/many of us are naive on the subject. Dave's in-law family story not unusual I'm afraid.

I would vote for no drug testing, and no drug laws. That way the drug addicted could ask for and receive the treatment they need without penalty. It would allow billions of tax money to be saved, as well as making our country more humane.

Actually not a bad idea, think of the money people could save on diets! I mean, have you ever seen a fat meth or heroin addict?
