Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in
a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside,
thoroughly used up, totally worn out, loudly proclaiming---WOW WHAT A
RIDE!!!
1968, I was a senior in high school. Graduated in May, and spent most of my time chasing skirts, (yes, girls wore skirts back then), and working just enough to keep myself in cigarettes and gas for the 1957 Ford Fairlane. I knew the Draft Board was hot on my heels and I kept moving around a lot. They caught up with me in May of 1969 and I got my all expense paid vacation to the beautiful far East in 1970.

I remember 68 well, I was four at the time, living the easy life. tricycles, lincoln logs, Mickey Mouse, sleep anytime I wanted, not a care in the world except when the food was going to be ready, when could I go outside and play, and if I had to take a bath. That was the good old days.
1968. I'll never forget it. I was 9 years old living in Baltimore. I remember my mother calling me into the house in a panic. She sat down in front of the TV and made me watch as Sprio Agnew saying that the goverment troops would lock up anyone caught on the streets after 7:00pm. These were the Riot times that headed down my street after Martin Luther King Jr. was shot.
1968. I was 16 going on 17 and living in a farming town of 1500 that is now a city of 130,000 (Elk Grove, CA). Spent a lot of time hanging around at the A&W and Frosty drive-in's on Main Street. Got a part time job pumping gas at the 76 Union service station. Dad got me a Honda 90 that year, which I rode all over town. My girlfriend at the time, had a very cute friend in Sacramento, who I met that year. Been married to that cute gal since 1972.

In 1968, I was a sophomore in high school, with a '65 Chevy BelAir with three on the column, and a 283 V8. Wow, were those good memories. I remember my dad telling me on a Saturday morning to go fill my car up with gas, as it was going from 15 cents to 19 cents a gallon on Monday. Sure miss those times!!!! In 1969, I met a good looking girl in high school, which still happens to be my wife. We married in 1973, and still love each other very much. Two wonderful children, and life if still good. We love to RV, and are close to both being able to retire and go when and where we want.
Happy RVing,

I have it on good authority that 1967 is on the Top 10 lists of best High School graduating class years, in fact ranked no. 1 on many lists.
'68 was the summer of love and I spent a goodly portion of it without much love at all in San Antone... Lackland actually. A year later, after a nice long tech school at Lowry, my brand new bride and I were off to Elmendorf, the Good military base in Anchorage
