Hi,
Just made reservations for a week at Davis Mountains State Park end of Feburary. The site is full hook-up. We have never had cable hookup before, although the MH has the capability!
The question DH asked is how much coax cable does he need to bring?
Hope I am asking this the right way?

25' with two male ends should be plenty. The cable hookups are right by all the other utilities. We were there May of 2007.

Our cable connection is adjacent to our electrical so 25 feet was plenty for us. In general, it never hurts to have two 25ft pieces on board for different situations. Davis Mountains SP is a great place and is one of the few with full hookups. Have fun!

I would suggest along with the 25 foot cable an "F" connector coupling. Some get lost at the parks. Depends on how the park is setup for needing coupling just good to have.
The cables are fairly inexpensive. Get RG-6.
You may want to get a shorter one like 10 foot and the 25.

It will depend on the location of your cable hook up on the MH. We have used 25 to 50 ft of cable. The cable boxes are located at the front of your camper at this park when you pull in. As long as I am on the forum I have a question. Has anyone stayed at Abilene State Park? We will be going the last week of Feb.

Bonefish,
I've stayed there many times, but only once in the RV and that was in the wagon wheel group area. Not real great. I've stayed in Pecan grove in a tent. It will handle very small trailer such as Pups but nothing else. Great trees in this area. I have also stayed in oak grove. It's trees are not great, but it will take larger RV's. The nicest area for RV's is Brushy Trail. It was always full when I was there. The pool is also nice, but only open Memorial day until Labor Day. I have not been there in about 4 years but doubt it has changed much.

I suggest a 25' and a 50' length, or at least 2 25's, with a double female union to go between the 2 if necessary. Then you have what you need to make up any length required. It does not matter if you have one too long, but one that is too short does absolutely no good at all! (kind of like sewer hose)
Get a couple of those unions, by the way, because as someone observed, they seem to crawl under rocks and get themselves lost on occasion.
