We are coming from a tent trailer where we had this storage drawer and another self contained storage above that.
It was pretty easy/convenient to pack that. We could even put loose items in there, like toys, etc. without worrying things will get scattered around.
Now that we are moving to a travel trailer, we have to deal with this pass-through storage. I'm not sure what the best way to pack/organize that is. I'm thinking either boxes, although not as efficient as they are square OR heavy duty canvas bags or a combination.
I would appreciate some ideas as to the best way to organize that storage.
we use those plastic under bed storgage boxes which can stack on top of each other. On ours the access door is smaller than the compartment dimensions so a big drawer will not work well.

I have 8 plastic mesh laundry baskets in my pass through. It keeps things from moving around, lets me organize them by category and I can see inside of them to see what's in them. Good luck / Skip
Whoever designed my 21' Roo (or maybe retrofit it - I bought it used), was a genius. The pass through storage in the front of my HTT has a full width heavy plastic drawer, mounted on a slider that slides out of the doors on either side of the pass-through compartment. Makes it easy to keep things organized and to get at everything in the compartment.
I have never seen this on any other TT, but everyone I show it to thinks it is a stroke of genius.
I just did a quick search on Camping World and couldn't find anything similar. When I can get to the HTT through the snow, I will try to take a picture of the setup, as I am sure it is hard to imagine from my description.

I guess it really depends on what you 'store' in your pass thru.
For me...I use NO boxes or baskets...
One side I have all my wood blocks for under the stabilizers, my small propane grill, wheel chocks, and the like.
In the MIDDLE area I keep an extra step I carry for those unlevel sites and on top of that I keep my site rug(s), oops I lied...I have one tupperware tote that I keep my cable for TV, water and sewer extra connections, rain gear, and small 'stuff'...
On the other side I keep my lanterns, double burner propane cooker, double cast iron griddle, camp fire irons, cords, etc.
The MIDDLE area keeps things from sliding around.
Along the FRONT wall of the TT I slide my long 2x6 boards for leveling the TT when setting up...fits real nice in front of everything...
Under the bed...well that is part of my pass thru area but can't easily be accessed by the pass thru (more of a T pass thru)...but under the bed I keep all the folding campfire chairs stacked in there...
So you see...my packing method keeps things snug from moving and each area has a specific 'place' for things I carry...
So not to be a smart guy...but I'd say it really depends on what you carry and how you intend to pack it?...if I had a bunch of small light items I carried up there...I'd certainly want some rubbermaid/tupperware containers or you would be fishing around for stuff upon arrival. For my method though...I create a center 'wall' with the step, tupperware container and rug that STOPS things from migrating from one side to the other...
On our 5er pass-through I use some Rubbermaid Roughneck boxes, one for electrical, plumbing, sewer, miscellaneous. The boxes are labeled and I can go straight to what I need. I also keep a 5 gal bucket in there also with my chocks and short boards. I put the long things like table, satellite tripod in the center. Works well for us.

My Alumi-Lite came with that slide out tray, but I removed it since it wasn't an efficient use of the pass thru. Like others I got two of the Sterilite #1996 underbed storage boxes which sit on top of each other and I could still get two large deeper containers in the pass tru also. Below is the link to the containers I got and I found them at my local Target store.
