I talked to one of the engineers at Detroit Steel that worked on this project while I was trying to get part #'s. He did not think that there would be much of an improvement from 2 to 2-1/2". They sold the technology to GM who chose to use the 2" instead of the 2-1/2" as they felt the cost/benefit was not justified. He did not remember for sure but he thought McCormick was putting them on when GM did not supply them. He also explained how it works and our general consensus was correct. It is a roll control. I guess we could see what they do and whether the 2" tube is twisting by raising the jacks on one side and watching it. Maybe someone who has upgraded will jump in on this.
I have some 1/4" wall 3" tubing laying around. Maybe I will fabricate a super duty unit.
I just checked my 2006 Gulf Stream Ultra 6316. (Normally, the Ultra series is a notch below the Endura series, optionwise.) Mine has the 2-1/2" tube. It was built early in the model year, so the C5500 chassis is actually 2005.

I think the tubing wall is thicker than 1/4. Part of the kit is the holder for 2 1/2" tube. May not be enough clearance for 3" tubing between mounting bolts. Sounds like a nice project though.
Quote: McCormick has the kit to go from 2" tube to the 2-1/2" tube. It includes the tube, brackets and some rubber bumpers. Part # is KIT2695. Price is $255 plus shipping.
Thanks az99, this is the information I was looking for.

I am very happy with my "as delivered" Bigfoot 32ST. The only thing I don't like is the top sway when empty so I always keep at least 50 gals. water on board which lowers the center of gravity. Have driven more than 500 miles per day in lots of wind and feel comfortable.
