I'm putting insulation in the roof of my Sprinter and before the ceiling panels are reinstalled, I would like to run wires for the lighting and the fan. There will be two 1.3 amp fluorescent lights and one Fantasic Fan. Separate wires will be run for the Fan, but can I run one set of wires for the two lights. If so, how should the lights be wired? Parallel with 3 wires or ... ?

Actually, 12 gauge wire would be plenty for two lights and the fan.
Everthing would be wired in parallel.
I am lost when you mention 3 wires. You only need two wires.

I would suggest two circuits. One for the lights and one for the fan.
The lights can be wired in parallel using a two wire circuit.
The normal system is 12 volts DC. You are wiring for DC correct?
The amperage you provided is for 12 volts?

I'm wiring for DC and the stated amperage is for 12 volts. Each light is a dual 8 watt light (Thinlite 622) and 12 guage wires will be used. The 3rd wire suggestion came from a wiring diagram drawn by a hardware store clerk.

Thanks for your suggestions. Rick

The third wire is unnecessary in a DC system.
I would suggest black wire for negative and red for the positive.
Be careful with wire identification on the Thinlite products.

The Thinlites and the Fantastic fan wires are black and white, no red. In this case, is white positive and black negative? Rick

This is the problem with Thinlites.
White is not always positive. Wired properly it should be ground. Many have tags on wire s to identify. Look closely and becareful. Hook up wrong and they are toast(ballast).
Red and black are DC colors in most other systems

Get an analog multimeter and test the circuit between the two wires. If you have the polarity reversed, the needle tries to go backwards.
