Lucy;

I don't know about Nova Scotia, but at least at the Provincial Parks that I have been to here in NB (Mactaquac and Grand Lake), there is power at the sites. There is not water at the sites, but water spiggots and cook/wash stations are liberally placed throughout the parks.

I hope this helps,

To clarify, "hydro" to us Ontarians means "electricity". We once made the mistake of asking for a "hydro" site while camping in the US, and they thought we were referring to "water". FYI, this use of the word goes back to the early days of Ontario Hydro. At that time, they harnessed the energy of Niagara Falls, and indeed, 100% of Ontario's energy was hydro-electric. Now, hydro accounts for only about 26% of Ontario's energy needs...... Just thought you'd like to know!

Hydro is understood throughout Canada in my experience.

Re. electrical hook ups, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland & Labrador are beginning to add to certain campgrounds in 2009. New Brunswick and PEI have them. New Brunswick cgs have some places with nice sites for hook ups, but so many of them are as tight as parking lots.

& I, I took the road less travelled by.

In Nova Scotia provincial parks they will let you plug in battery chargers at the office. They have been known to also deliver them back to your campsite when they are charged.

Some of them also have one site that has power available for medical reasons.

Thanks for the warning on power to charge scooter. We will be sure to watch for that, as battery removal is really not a practical option even if park office would be nice enough to charge that way. Good idea about mentioning medical reason for power. If it has to be a parking lot campsite, so be it as alternative is to stay home, which is not really an alternative. Fortunately scooter likely doesn't need a charge every day, but every other day is likely.

We appreciate all the suggestions. Any more?
