Another bottle washer/recycler here.
I like the look of the nalgene bottle but it is a little pricey.
Considering that I drink at least 96oz of water/tea/fruit juice per day...I won't buy a new bottle each time.
Have to wonder....why alternative bottling methods aren't used in the pop industry.

Coke has already redesigned their bottles. If you notice the caps are shorter and the bottles are thinner. This not only saves the enviroment but saves a few bucks for Coke as well making Warren Buffet a happy man.

I hate glass bottles and hope they don't bring them back. They are bad in the back country, I can pick up cans and plastic bottles but when glass bottles are broken I can't carry them out, they just cut through our garbage sacks.
I love to drink pop out of them but people don't dispose of them the way they should.

I like the old style glass returnable soft drink and beer bottles to drink out of, although returning sometimes was a pain in the butt. I do wish they would bring 'em back though. rick

We have a filter under the kitchen sink and refill whatever bottles we feel like ..Some Nalgene and some water bottles..Everything is washed well. I heard the temp. of the dishwasher breaks down the water bottles so I do them by hand... Louanne

I poured hot water directly into a water bottle and it started to melt or contract like heat shrink tubing would. I think they are made that way for a reason now but I'm not sure why.

I been running them through the dishwasher on the bottom rack. I don't use the heated dry cycle and they come out great.
