I live only about 25 miles away and so far no tornadoes here. They seem to pop up all over the place, I really don't think there is any "SAFE" place from tornadoes, earthquakes, etc. At least Iowa has the emerg. sirrins that go off to warn you. We were in Florida a few years ago and tornadoes and no warning system. We will go and have fun, can always hang out in shower house if weather gets bad, have one big party that way. LOL

The worst of the storms were about 90 miles from here. I drove through the campground yesterday just to make sure there was no damage and everything looked fine. Except for the high water that covered some of the beach front sites, and the beach. Must be getting better though cause I noticed that they lowered the depth of the Iowa river down here by the Riverside Casino. Don't know if it was like that this morning since its dark when during my morning trek.

I was just informed that my son is getting married for the third time. For some reason he wants to do it in Tennessee so I may have to cut some corners to be able to afford it. Plans are still to attend the rally but It may just be a day trip with the car. We will have to decide soon so I can cancel reservations.

I think you should come to the rally and tell your son you'll go to his 4th wedding

There is no doubt in my mind that there will be a fourth wedding. He just asks one small favor. He wants to use my truck to haul his motorcycle down there so he can cut costs. It's going to cost him 40 cents a mile to just drive it down there. I figure close to $85o worth of gas. He can't afford a car but will spend half the price of a good used one just to get married. The car would probably last longer.

By the time the third one comes around the weddings shouldn't cost very much.
when my DW and I got married it was the second for both of us and we just realized that all the glitz and frills of a fancy wedding are for the attending and not really for the bride and groom. We booked a trip o Venezuala specifically to Margarita Island and found a JP. we had a few paperwork problems so we had a JP in Iowa redo it real quick just to make sure it was legal here. Told everyone they could attend, it would only cost them a plane ticket and a hotel room in a third world country. Oh, and don't forget the passports too.

It was the second time for the wife and I. Spent $35 to get married 36 years ago. she is still putting up with me so I guess it worked. He ain't getting******from us for the wedding. He makes more than both of us and has nothing to show for it. I'm reluctantly going to show up but I'm going to make it a mini vacation. I'll get to Deals Gap for sure though I won't have my bike.

As of right now I will be at the rally with my 5th wheel. We are laying low the next two weeks to make up for the cost of gas. I've decided that we are not going to stay home because of the price of fuel We will just make up for it someplace else. I think the first thing that will go is cable tv and cable internet. I can save about $80 a month, enough for almost a tank of gas. I've been doing a little work on the side to help with costs also. Not much because I work for a hour for 2 gallons of gas.
