We just purchase a new 2008 Jayco Designer 34RLQS. We did not notice during walk thru that trim and such was put in with staples. When we got back to the RV park, looking at a certain angle, we noticed they had tried to cover all of them with putty of some sort. They had been smeared and never even wiped off. I thought we we getting a good quality RV. Not sure if this was from dealership or factory. Also our Bronze faucet in kitchen is starting to peel at the base. We love the layout and is just what we wanted. I will contact the dealership. They will say bring it in. We are 2 hrs away and going thru LA traffic is not what I am looking forward to. Just was wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

The putty is pretty much standard. Personally I would leave it for a while to make sure it fully cures, then you just clean up the excess with pledge. On the faucet, I would take pics and get in contact with Jayco or the dealer. Just tell them to send you the part. That is if you don't mind replacing it yourself.

Honestly the faucet should have been caught if it was like that at the factory, but there's no way to tell. I think the putty issue it pretty much universal.

we have a Jayflight and same with the putty. Look sloppy to me and like it was done in a hurry. Our dealer was the same way, bring it over, no offer to cover your trip expenses to get there to fix their problem.

We have 2003 Laredo and the same thing with the putty. Ceiling and the slide trim. Just learned to live with and never saw it after a year.

Our Jayco was the same way - our dealer was upfront about the putty. They said (as above) to let it "cure" for a month. They told me to use the "Goof-Off" brand of cleaner lightly on a clean rag, turning frequently with a VERY LIGHT circular motion - or bring it in.

I did it myself and after 5 minutes the whole coach looked better. I saw the putty smears from angles while seated in the coach or in direct sunlight.

I don't think this is any refelection of the quality of the unit. The faucet Jayco doesn't make, so call them. You can get one in the mail from Jayco or the dealer and send back the defecive one.

My wife and I were seriously considering a purchase of the 34RLQS Designer. Before we do, would any of you recommend something else?
We will be full timing. Our second choice is a Cameo Carrylite (can't rember actual model right now) and basically are looking for quality and as few problems as possible. Previous RV's spent more time in shop than on the road. Thanks.

Thanks for all the info. I did contact Jayco and dealership. Both told me I had to either bring it in or have a mobile rv come out and confirm the peel on faucet. They would not just send one in the mail. We would still have to pay for call out for mobile guy.Bummer I have taken pictures.

Sounds like you need a new dealer. They can forward pictures just as easily as you can. There is no reason to waste gas for a peeling faucet.

Rodney, for a 2 hour drive you might consider just taking it out yourself and ordering a new one from CW or RVW as an example. Another option is go to Lowes or HD and get a nice residential faucet.
