I have posted before about a tire pressure monitor several of you had a system from Truckers part store rather than a Pressure Pro system could you tell me if you are happy or unphappy with this unit. Also do the ones that have Pressure Pro happy with their system.

Interested in this one also. Have been eyeing the 10 wheel one from the Truckers Parts Store for $500.

The only tire pressure system I know about is PressurePro, which I have. The only negative I have on it is that sometimes it has a hard time getting the signal from the rear tires on the FW. That is probably my fault I have not mounted the PressurePro but I do have a small ledge on the dash where it can rest. When I lose the signal, I have my navigator hold it up in the air and within a few minutes, it returns to getting a good signal from all tires. I never have a problem with the signal from the tires on the TV. That being said, I would not be without the system. I had two blowouts on a previous RV and one did considerable damage. The cost of the damage exceeded the cost of two PressurePro systems. which I foolishly did not have at the time. One strong reason for the PressurePro is that you can check the pressure in each tire at any time. I have always checked my tire pressure in the morning before towing. With PressurePro, I can do it while sitting in my seat in the TV.

I have had the Pressure Pro for almost a year now and I love it
After experiencing three blow outs without knowing until someone would pass me and point at the trailer The Pressure Pro has taken that worry off my mind when towing It is well worth the cost I used the velcro straps that came with the unit to mount it to the dash board I did not buy the extension antenna because I thought it would be better to try it out first and then if I needed it I could get it. I don't need it

I have the tire pressure pro and am happy with it. I keep it just below the radio where the center console is and always get a reading.
I also use the velcro that was supplied with it.

I am very pleased with our Pressure Pro system which also has an underinflation/overinflation warning. Fortunately no blown tires yet but it is reassuring to be able to monitor the tires while driving. My only complaint is that none of my tire guages match what PressurePro indicates as the psi. The tire pressure guage that came with the PressurePro shows the lowest; a separate tire guage the middle, and the PressurePro the highest. Never sure which to believe, but at 110psi per tire also don't want to overinflate.

Can anyone recommend a really accurage tire guage?

I have had my PressurePro for ~3 years and have yet to have a problem. I can receive pressure readings from all 4 sensors when my truck is parked in the garage ~40ft away.

So far it's worked GREAT for me. Personally, I wouldn't want to travel without some form of a monitor.

We have had our Pressure Pro for 5 years and it had given us a warning three times. Twice we got a nail in a tire and had a slow leak and was loosing air so we stopped and got the tire fixed with no serious problem. Once we got a warning from the Pressure Pro and it was for the pressure going higher than when we started out in the morning - got out to look and there were big bubbles on the sidewall so we figured a tread seperation was going to happen soon so we changed the tire. Would not be without a tire pressure monitor on our 5th wheel.

Do blowouts usually occur after losing pressure on a tire. I was under the impression a tread separation or blowout is not always preceded by a lowered pressure. If so, the Pressure Pro would not help, as it would with a slow leak.

If you loose pressure, the tire will overheat and probably throw the tread - but still may not blow out right away. Pressure Pro or any other monitoring system will not give advanced warning of a blowout unless the tire pressure changes quite a bit first.

Don't feel too secure with a tire monitoring system. Check tires at each stop with an infrared heat sensor ($50 at Radio Shack) and a good visual check. It only takes a minute or two. Any tire that is much hotter than the others is a good candidate for trouble.

My air chuck has a dial gauge that always reads high. I have a good digital gauge that always reads within 2psi of the Pressure Pro system, so I tend to believe the PP system is accurate.
