Good decision on keeping the 5er, why change what works?

ladymc, I think you made a WISE decision. I read a while back that you were looking at some other units and those were definitely not the quality of what you already have.

My parents currently have a 1999 Newmar, they love it. Only thing they have a problem with is the slide swithc position....but it's a great quality trailer
Good decision!

Yes, SSport, the position of the slide switch in the bedroom is in a place that if you're not careful you can hit it with your shoulder. DH did that the first time we got in it, but now that we're aware of it, it's not a problem.
For the posters that think "I'll give you a few months, you'll change your mind." I thought that too, that's why I went looking - but I didn't see the quality or roominess that mine has. There's no comparison - even to the newer Newmars. Mine is more open concept and everyone that's seen it says they can't believe we have that much room and storage with just 2 slides. They don't make a Mountainaire 5'er anymore - we got one from I think 1 of the last years that they made it. And the previous owner customized it with all the things I'd want. Anyway, just my thoughts. I'm just so excited to have saved THOUSANDS of dollars that I can't stand myself! Now, DH doesn't mind spending the money on other things I want - tire monitoring, macerator, etc. It's cheaper!

lol actualy they've never complained about the one in the bedroom, only the one which is located directly next to the bathroom lite switch under the mirror....lol No big deal though. They had someone make them a small oak cover to put over it. I have switch location problems in my new TT as well.

Mrs Mik - My folks moved to Colby in 1949. I know what you are talking about. I have escaped to Texas and think of 32 degrees as "real cold"
