What is the rate for the second vehicle (Toad). And as I understand you, you keep one for when you drive without the toad, which had a certain rate per toll, and then use the other one when you tow, or do you put both in the window for when you tow?

Curious...

I put mine on the windshield but didn't work all the time so I got one for the license plate. No problem now!!!!!!!! JIM

What's meant by "for the license plate", the transponder sticks to the plate?

I've seen these type, it attaches to the top of the license plate with the screw that hold the plate in place. I'm not sure if it's an actual license plate holder or not, but it's basically a black box maybe 1-1/2" X 4" X 1/2" thick that is on the license plate.

I worried that someone would steal it, but do know a few people who have them, and so far.....

Hope that helps,
Bill

I can't use the one for the license plate. I have two, one for when I am towing and one for when I don't tow. New York gives a special deal to MH's. They charge you a special rate which is much lower than the truck rate and when towing you pay the lower rate and the standard rate for the toad.

I only use 1 at a time....they are different colors. One is for the moho, and the other is for moho towing.

I had same issue with our "C" and got many call EZPass notices and letters in the mail. I say it worked maybe 50%. I was able to pay all without a fine but was tired on the hassle so I got the license plate one. You won't find info on website so I went to service center and got one. They tried to say my motorhome was not listed as license plate eligible but I showed them all the letters and they gave me one. I used last summer for first time and had zero issues in NJ/NY/VT/NH/ME/MA/CT area.

I have SMART-TAG, which is used in Va.,it is compatable with EZ-Pass, I put it in the top center of my windshield, and never had a problem on the NY thruway, it is also the same one I use on my toad.

I just got off the phone with EZ-Pass customer service requesting the license plate transponder and was told that they are no longer available and are being eliminated. Reason being that to many are getting broken or lost.

I just ordered one on-line and it let me order the one for the license plate (exterior-black vs interior-ivory).
