Pot lucks always seem to work out mainly because people do tend to bring more than they would plan to eat themselves. Thus, lots of food. I say bring what you want to drink and there again if you happen to bring more drink than you plan to drink there will be extra floating around.

Maybe we can get David, (Davydd), to again make that excellent stew that he tested out on us at Niobrara. First time dutch oven use I think.....

If he does make it I'll get in the food line sooner....as I missed out on what I heard was a delicious stew. As the old saying goes...snooze and you loose.

The stew was an example of bringing more potluck than you can eat. I believe there were anywhere from 8 to 12 servings and with the cup dipper and small paper bowls provided it might have been slightly more but there were nearly 40 of us! As long as everyone doesn't bring just Dorito chips we should be OK.
That was the inaugural Dutch oven attempt.

Thanks for posting the site about the fallen Arch at Arches NP. I heard a snippet about it on the 5 pm news, but wasn;t paying attention soon enough in the story to learn what had really happened.

I'm a senior newbie and have been monitoring the forum since Moab is so close to Henderson (less than an hour away). I'll be picking up my B (2006 RT Adventurous) the beginning of Sept. in Al and motoring back. It'll be a fast trip (no campgrounds)since my son needs to get back to work in CO.
I called Riverside this morning and they are full. I don't mind staying at another RV place. I just want to come and visit and pick everyone's brain on the B's. I'll try to take a few 2-day trips to campgrounds so I can learn to hook-up and dump and I know I'll have a lot of questions after that, if no one minds.
I'm retiring at the end of this month and hope to do a lot traveling.

I just did a quick check on map quest and Henderson Nv. to Moab Utah comes up with about 473 miles and 6 hours driving time. This group loves to have its brain picked. Are all the sites taken or are just the electrical ones taken. I know they also have tent sites that a B could use. I would check back and see about using one of those if still availible...also maybe you could get put on a list in case someone would have to cancel out.
Hope you have a safe and fun trip picking up your B. See you Moab......

Is Riverside doing any kind of a standby list? There are always some drop outs before these rallies with this number of participants for any one of many reasons.

Thank for correcting my sense of direction, unfortunately I just glanced at the map and now I realized I saw Moapa. You're right, Moab is about 6 hrs. from Henderson.
I called Riverside this morning to get on the waiting list and they had 2 openings, so I'm in. I used my credit card to reserve the spot. Am looking forward to meeting all of you.
