My costume is almost finished, every time I did a fitting on MacDuff I gave him a cookie, he still doesn't like it but he is being a bit more obliging, wants the cookie, don't know what he'll do when he has to appear in public.

Regarding the bingo, the way we played it at the B5 was the presents were wrapped but the first person to pick it would unwrap it so others would know if they wanted to take it. IIRC it could be "taken" by others a maximum of 3 times. It gets hilarious as the more popular prizes get passed around.

I have seen snatcho bingo played several ways. The rules used at B5 seem to work well:
  • All prizes are wrapped.
  • Each person that contributes a prize has their name put in a hat.
  • A name is drawn and that person either takes a prize from the stack or selects one that someone else has selected. If it is a prize from the stack, it is opened and shown to all participants.
  • If a person's prize is snatched, that person selects another prize either from the stack or from another person. It cannot be snatched back from the person that has just snatched it from them.
  • When all that have had a prize snatched have selected another prize, another name is drawn.
  • The game continues until all participants have a prize and the stack of prizes is gone.
  • As stated by kenuck above, when a prize has been snatched 3 times, it is no longer eligible to be snatched and the participant that has it gets to keep it.
The recommended value of prizes needs to be stated, generally $5.00 has been used.

One more, stopover-as-needed offer, I'm in Norwood (Snoregood) CO about 35m west of Telluride and about 2 and 1/2 hrs from Moab if anyone needs a stopover before heading to the Rally. The gal who first introduced me to Pleasureway with her Excel, Sue Renyolds, just signed up so the listmakers can add her name. She's also in Norwood.

Thanks AsheGuy for a clear description about Snatcho Bingo. As the "official Snatcho Bingo facilitator" who has never played it, suggest that $5.00 is a reasonable value to put on the prize. It certainly limits choices (no gag or joke items) but will test our creativity.

Chino (my spouse) is working on designing a logo for our event. He needed something to call it, so this has officially been named the "B Out West" event. Once he has it done, we'll print it onto T-shirt transfers for anyone that wants to make their own official B Out West shirt. If you're interested, send me a PM with your name and mailing address and I'll mail you a transfer sheet and directions for ironing it onto a shirt. (once he has the design finished) Or, if you prefer you can send an email and I'll send you a JPEG that you can print onto anything that you want.

I agree, Julie it is a great idea. I have to add that the rules for "Snatcho Bingo" as presented above seem unnecessarily cumbersome. At B4 numbers were drawn, there was not a limit on the number of times a prize could be snatched (which was half of the fun), and the game ended when all of the numbers had been played. Of course, not everyone necessarily got a prize. If you want everyone to get a prize you might just as well put them all on a table and tell each person to pick one. I guess it all depends upon how one defines "a game" vs. a gift exchange. This is just my opinion, for whatever it is worth.

I agree with Julie. The original rules, as presented by the Snatcho King (aka Burchbark, aka Jack), were that each person wrote down five numbers from one to however many participants there were, then the numbers were drawn from a hat and anyone who had the number drawn would take a gift from the table. This would continue until the gifts were all taken, then the game would continue with people taking gifts from others until all numbers were drawn.

This way, several people could be taking gifts on the same number drawn. It made it interesting and fun, as opposed to drawing a name, in which case, the person who's name was drawn first was done for the night and the last name drawn had their choice of any gift in the house. As Julie said, that's just a gift exchange.

I've played by the original rules at four rallies and loved it, but wasn't at B5, so I can't say that wasn't fun, too. Just wanted to give my input. My humble opinion only, no offense meant to anyone else.
