Marty, I talked to the campground late last week and she said no problem at that time with a Thursday arrival, however, they are packed full for that weekend, Fri, Sat, Sun. So if you are concerned about staying Thursday night and you see you will probably get there then, you might go ahead and call them prior to arriving.
But, there are literally hundreds of campgrounds around the Moab area within 75 miles or so, don't get too concerned about somewhere to stay.

Well so much for us getting out of here this weekend. We got the B back from the shop right on time today after an oil change, tire rotation, brake pads and rotors and new ball joints. ($OUCH$) However, one of Chino's newer customers called and offered us $$ to do an emergency job for them due on Tuesday. Of course, the $$ that they offered is exactly enough to cover the work on the B.... so we decided it might be prudent to wait a few days and do the job. Hopefully we'll be out of here on Wednesday at the latest.
At least we can look forward to a weekend of getting the B cleaned up and loaded for a nice, long trip! The anticipation is part of the fun of the trip.

If the sky doesn't fall in the next 40 minutes - we are on the road
to the ferry bound for Port Angeles, Washington.
Will do some of the Oregon coast - then head east towards Moab.
Can't believe we been waiting 233 days for this day...
Wishing all the others a very safe and happy journey.
In the Badlands yesterday now in Rapid City SD. So far having a good relaxing time enjoying all the sites. Havent seen too many B's on the road and so far none in any of the campgrounds we've been in. Can't wait to head to Utah and meet everyone. Hope all have a safe and enjoyable trip.
We are heading out Wednesday but first we will go slightly east to La Crosse, WI for our grandson's University of Wisconsin pre-school campus Ocktoberfest parade. This year as a 3 year old he may not be as mystified and actually throw the candy to the spectators instead of dropping it.
Thursday afternoon we will head west on I-90 toward the Badlands and Black Hills. After that we are still open as to where to head next.
We now plan to return a longer way and head out from Moab south for El Paso, TX. I was surprised that it was 650 miles away. My brother called me yesterday to tell me that he is moving back there to teach high school and has to start October 6. They gave him a signing bonus and moving expenses. Last year back in Minnesota all he could get was substitute teaching positions. The year before he taught in El Paso. So instead of exploring more of Utah it looks like Carlsbad and Guadaloupe are now in the loop.

Watch out for us Dave! We're probably heading out on Wednesday, but we'll stop down in Worthington to spend a night at my Mom's place and leave from there on Thursday.
By the way, it's a long, long, long drive across Texas! We did that a few years ago, going from Galveston towards Moab. It seemed like we were in Texas forever.
We left home, that would be Henderson NV on 8/21/08 and travelled East to Columbus OH, where my sister lives, and Northwest OH where my son lives. We have been visiting family and friends until today, we started back West this morning. We will spend a couple of days in Kansas City, (more relatives), then to Thornton CO (another son)for 4 days, then on to Moab. Hope to be there on 10/1/08. We are looking forward to meeting everyone and enjoying the area.
Something you all might find interesting. We purchased our Trek in 4/96, in 5/96 we began a 13 month odyssey across the United States and Canada. Along the way trying to decide where we wanted to live out the rest of our lives. My husband voted for Tennessee, me, Florida. So we compromised and now live in Henderson NV.

Well, I guess I don't know how to quote and insert it in my post. So, what I wanted to say about Davydd's post was that his grandson attending the UW-LaCrosse pre-school caused us to reflect back on our careers--that child care center was developed in response to a system-wide and campus committee with which I was involved. It is housed in a building built with fees which Sandy, as Health Center Director, had to save. (At the time he was less than excited about that) So, we are thrilled that our legacies live on!
