There are some fireroads I have seen to ride but dont know if its legal or not.

I'll see if Susi will make her famous potato salad if that's enough. Otherwise we can do BBQ pulled pork too.

Page 3 is for the "also ran" folks. The event will be here soon so we should keep the thread up near the front. Y'all have a great evening!

I'll be coming via Susanville. Anybody know of a good alternate route/shortcut so I don't have to go all the way into Reno/Sparks? I'm wondering if there is another way to get there from the Lemon Valley/Stead area? Thanks for any info!

If you are going SB/395 from Susanville, get off on the Golden Valley exit. Go left, all the way past the high school, over a hill, to the stop light on Sun Valley Blvd. Go left, and, after a few twists and turns, and another hill, you'll be at another stoplight. This is Pyramid Highway. Go left (north) on PH to Moonrocks.

That should cut out about 10-15 miles and 20-30 minutes of driving, since you'll miss most of the stoplights on Pyramid Highway in Sparks. This is the route we take whenever we go to the Moonrocks, Pyramid Lake/range.

There are possibly more folks from Mt. Shasta coming to the event....does that downgrade the event from an excellent rating?
