Well, that sure answered his question.

Also, thanks for quoting the original question, by the time I got to your reply, I had forgotten what he asked.

Lithia Dodge of Fresno has two Ram 4500's in stock.

I've heard that only some of the larger fleet dealers will be carrying the 4500/5500 in stock. I'm not sure if the other dealers can order them in or not.

I have seen three of them in Houston. They just really need to offer a factory pickup bed option, at least for the 4500 model.

I looked into them. The GVW is good. But they are not making it in the mega cab. And the tow rating is based on it staying a cab & chassis (no bed). I am sure it will tow great, but it is not for me. Sad thing is I have wanted a Cummings motor for some time now. But, Dodge will just not make the truck I want. So the next one will be another Fix Or Repair Daily.

They have been out for over a year and I have yet to see even one in this very large marketplace. Where are they?

Not positive, but I think I saw one at a local dealer, did not see the badging, so am not sure if a 3500 with a box body, or a 45/55. They have only been producing n the US for maybe 6 months, so not that many out there, and last I heard and read, they planned to produce maybe 10-20K the first yr, or about 10% of the conventional cab market vs Ford or GM's class 4 and 5 trucks. I do not think anyone will see a bunch for some time yet to come.

Here is a site with some good info on the new for 2008 Dodge 4500 and 5500 trucks.

Allpar.com Dodge chassis-cab

I haven't seen one around here on the street yet, but I haven't seen any of the new Ford 450 or 550 trucks either. I actually have only seen a few 2008 Ford Superduties at all. I remember when I see them because of the grill.

Hi. Again!

Maybe I'm jumping the gun again.
It took a couple of years (94 & 95) before the RV public started to consuming them and set them up as T.V.
I guest they rattled FOMOCO a little too!
I still like my '96 Ram 2500hd, V-10, 13,600# now a classic.
It handle my 5'er ok!
Its always been a little short on brakes. That was DODGE's problem from the get go. Calling it an "HD" with the 7,400 LBS brake system left in place.

I guest the "texas truck" will get on the ball soon or latter.
Just have to wait and see.
