We checked it out for the winter 07-08 season. We were hired but due to family commitments we were unable to make it. There is camping at Disney World, but very expensive (no discount for workers). There are numerous cg's in the area and cost will depend on the time of year. WDW recommends that workers carpool. The hiring manager told us there are no guaranteed hours, so one week maybe full time - next week no hours. Seemed like real nice people and interviews conducted via phone. We will probably try them in the future.

They are VERY PROUD of their jobs and feel they don't really need to do anything to get you to come work there. No camping for workampers, no fixed/guaranteed hours, no facial hair!!!!! and you have to get to work any way you can. They seem to get plenty of help so they apparently can do it this way OK.
The lady at the Workamper Forum, in Florida this year, that represented them had little or no people at her table and didn't seem to care in the least - she just sat in her little chair and if someone wanted to see about Disney she'd hand them a paper if they could get her attention.

I was shocked to learn that Disney is like 99.5% of all employers out there. They actually expect you to get to work on your own---what's next show up when scheduled!!!!! OH the humanity
DUH! We're talking workamping for minimum wage by adults. Not regular career working. If you don't know the difference you probably shouldn't be on a workcamping forum. Or perhaps just lurk somewhere else and look for cheap off-subject shots.
we,re talking employment by adults---as you hopefully know all workamping jobs do not entail a campground---they all entail schedules and getting to work--nor do they all entail minimum wage --you gave your rant--I gave mine---good luck in your retirement and I hope you find many workamping jobs that you enjoy
