I am recently retired and planning to start camping more often. I have a Coleman popup. The problem (as I see it) is my wife's oxygen concentrator. She has a problem and requires oxygen in order to get a good nights sleep. The issue is the noise level of the unit. According to the documentation, it produces 50db average noise level.
My question is: Will this issue prohibit me from camping at state parks? What about national parks? I have not been able to find any reference to the "quiet times" associated with camp grounds.

I don't think it's any louder then some of the AC units. If I'm not mistaken this unit would be inside your camper so the noise outside would be very low. I know I've camped by people that had them and I can't say I ever noticed. My wife says I snore above 50db. I wouldn't worry about it.

You should be fine. 50 db is more quiet than a Honda generator.

IN a worst case situation you might be required to camp in a handicap accessable site to use the O2Gen at night. Probably wouldn't bother anyone depending on HOW the Db is measured. Usually it is a given DB at a given distance. If it's 50 Db right at the source you probably would hardly hear it at 25 feet or more. When sites are close you might also talk to neighbors when you pull in and let them know what the device is and in the greatest majority of times they'll tell you not to worry about it. IMO no problem. That isn't really very noisy. Ours is 46 dB as I recall.

Each campground has a different quiet time policy, so check with them when you are reserving sites. Your wife's oxygen machine isn't very loud, so you should be fine.

My mom has one too and have never had a problem with the noise. Doesn't seem to be louder than the ac or furnace running. Just louder inside with us

In my opinion it would be a non-issue.
