Stan or anyone. We are leaving Lo de Marcos area in a few days and would like to stay at Villa Celeste in Celestino on our way back north. Could you comment here on how to get to the park coming north on 15 or private message me if you can't comment here. Thanks.
At km 78, north of Mazatlan exit to the right just BEFORE the overpass and then make a U turn up over the overpass. Follow the pavement through town(Celestino Gasca), but be careful of 2 very large topes, one just after the 1st left turn and the 2nd is just past the square. Go across the tracks and turn left on the gravel road, then as the Mexicans always say, derecho for about 3 km. Villa Celeste will be the 1st park on the right and the gate will be closed, just pull over to the left and walk in. The 2nd park is the new one and the 3rd is Celestino's, all within sight of each other. Safe traveling.

We were at Celestino on our way down to Lo de Marcos around Nov. 28th 2007. We took the toad into Mazatlan and when we came back we used the way "The Texan" has said. I don't know if they fixed it or not but you would'nt want to get off Mex 15D with your RV here. The reason being is the cattle guard is broken and it doesn't leave you much room for a car, let alone an rv...Just my opinion for you to evaluate. Having said the above, you can continue up the road to La Crus Elote exit and cross over the freeway and come back. It would be an addition 8 mile or so. But at least your rv will not be stuck in a cattle guard.....

We went the way I posted on DEC 10th and again on DEC 13th, there was no "broken" cattle guard and the exit road off M15d is in good shape with plenty of room for our 65'+ 18T rig and toad. I think you may have the wrong exit or something.

I dont think they are getting along. I was told the other park has free laundry but it is just an old wringer washer. Is that true. My only experience has been at Celeste and they are a fabulous bunch of people. Sometimes when you pull inot a park where they are semi permanent the experience is far from enjoyable. It is as if you are invisible! I would return to Villa Celeste anytime!!! The beach is quite nice but no decent shells. We do not have a oad so could not go to La Cruz.

The last time we were at Celestino it was a real washer and with the four kids it was a WONDER! We LOVE LOVE LOVED Celestino and we still have the boogieboard Chris gave my boys.

Do they have laundry facilities at Punta San Miguel?

What are the current weekly and daily rates at Villa Celeste?

Here is a link to their website. The daily rate in Dec was $20, but don't remember the weekly rate. They did have a nice modern washer/dryer for your use. I think a lot of the "they don't get along" is perpetuated by the guests, as Noe sat in our RV for over an hour talking to us and said that they we're getting along fine and there was more than enough business for all. I do know that 2 years ago, the host at Celestino's made some self serving statements about the other park.

When we were the third customers at Punta Sam Miguel at Christmas, my wife had the opportunity to be the first user of Ramon's brand new modern automatic washer. The new dryer was there, but not hooked up then. The washer is a household type, Ramon established some sort of payment scheme for us, Ive forgotten what he charged.

staying at Celestino RV Park... we have two brandnew washers and one brandnew dryer, cost is 10p for washer, 20p for dryer. Heard that San Miguel charges $5 a load???

Been here for some time, not seen any broken cattle guard or similar at km78.

After looking at the other two parks, my vote goes with this park here... we have so much space it's fabulous, and vegetation ie trees, bushes, flowers, giving a bit of privacy from the neighbors. Can't beat it!

We are at Villa Celeste and have been here for about a week - saw Sally and Gitana roll south - Noe says they bought the lot next door a couple of years ago but are still waiting title - says it can take 4 years - then he plans to expand and make the whole place a better more modern park with around 40 spaces - there is plenty of room in dry camping and limited room in full hookups but usually a space or two each day - room for 40 footers usually available - talked to Ramon at San Miguel and they are planning a very nice park but it will take time - they are open with 42 spaces but few people seem to stay there - Celestino RV seems to be close to full but usually a few spaces available - - - Re: the comment about the gate at Villa Celeste - it is almost always closed for security reason though they do not seem to have any security problems in this area - maybe just so unknowns do not roam in and out - - we think the bad cattle guard is probably at KM75 as we were afraid to use that exit - you probably want to use KM78 for all of these parks - Noe, Esthela, and Chofi are all very friendly and helpful - WiFi works most of the time - power and water can go off but usually not for long - nice place to stay....

The nice thing about Villa Celeste is he people. The residents are some of the friendliest we have met. One thing I have noticed in our travels in Mexico: Some of the parks with regulars ( those who stay months at a time) are not very friendly. They have happy hours and do not invite any vistors. It is as if you are invisible. One of the parks in Kino is like this. When we were permanents in Kino all the visitors were invited to any and all events. We lent parts, help and the use of a telephone and internet connection. While at Villa Celeste we attended a birthday party and had a great time . Almost made me want to move there!!!! Well, almost.

We spent Christmas and New Years there, and I can't think of a better place to be! There is such a strong sense of community -- one big, happy family. Noe and Esthela are more than park owners; they are recreational directors! Chofe is a gem! It is truly a family affair and a friendly, "happening" place! And, yes, the park does get involved with community affairs.
