I'm new to the RV forum, but first off thanks to Y-guy for posting all the manufactures of Toy haulers. I'm thinking about buying a 5th wheel toy hauler and have done searches but can't seem to find exactly what I'm looking for. Maybe you all can help.
I'm looking for a toy hauler with a 20 foot cargo area-big enough to hold 4 snowmobiles. Since I'm sleddin', what 5th wheels have a "winter package" ie: heated basement, dual pane windows, good insulation etc. And lastly, what size truck do I need to pull a big triple axle trailer? Thanks in advance.

20' of cargo is going to have to be around a 40' trailer, no separate garage.
F450 or bigger is what you need to haul that much weight.
Sleds are heavy right?

We haul our sleds in our Raptor all winter but it will only hold 3 with a 12 ft garage. Before we got a screaming deal on the trailer I was going to have one built byTrailer. This way I could of easily hauled 4 sleds and had the trailer insulated and built the way I wanted it, plus it would have been lighter than what I got.

You should look into a c-class diesel or class-a pusher with an enclosed car hauler. The water is going to do damage in the long run to a toybox hauler. I know its easier said than afforded though.

Four sleds in a toyhauler! U gunna need a BIG toyhauler.

That will limit you to an open model (no separate garage) and water will roll around onto the carpet, lino and under your cabinets as the snow melts off your tunnel. You might also run into width problems as you get up to the kitchen cabinets and such.

A TH this big is going to be a pain in the @$$ at Hope Valley. Another option, if you have a long bed, is getting a slick lift and putting two on the truck and two in a travel trailer TH. I think if you have a short bed the overhang out the back of the bed is too much for towing a trailer (unless you can make your trip without turning ).

you could fit three in a 12' garage. If you want to get four you'll need to build something like this I've been sledding w/my 3612 Raptor. My experience is that the TH is nice when the weather is cooperative and the roads are good. Those two things usually only happen towards the end of the season when the snow isn't all that great. Although I'm thinking of dewinterizing the Raptor tomorrow and go sledding. It is suppose to be in the high 30s. Truthfully though a 4 place snowmobile trailer works so much better and is a lot less stressful.

The only toyhauler that I know of today that has a heated under belly is the Fusion, awesome trailer, they also have the vented attic that helps keep out moisture as well.

Good luck

Thanks a lot for all of your replies. I love these forum sites. So much info. to be gained. A 4WD class C with a trailer without trailer brakes would be the ultimate combo, but that's a lot of coin. But if there isn't a stock toy hauler big enough and I have to have it specially built than that will probably be a lot of coin as well. Thanks again for your help.
