I have been to many Resorts that set age limits on coaches. Usually it will say rigs over 10 years old require inspection. This permits upgraded, antique, custom rigs to use the facilities but keeps the painted school buses out. Private campgrounds should be able to set rules for patron's enjoyment. If you object to the rules you can vote with your gas peddle. I don't take my grandchildren to "Adult parks", I ask about dog restrictions to make sure it applies to dog size and does not relegate me to a far corner. I've read about clothing optional, but my navigator can't seem to find them. Guess this is what makes Trailer Life Directory valuable. You can read about the restrictions before you pull up. Happy Trails.

I've been to that park, it is a upscale, extremely well run, clean and well laid out place. They have set the rules, plain and simple, if you don't like them, don't go there. If your rig doesn't fit into those rules, don't go there, or you will not be permitted to enter. Just because some people are not allowed in, does not make it a bad place. Count me as someone who likes their rules.

We went to a rally there. Nice clubhouse and pool. A lot of concrete, not a place I would take kids, not much for them to do.

You're kidding, right?

With a beautiful large size pool, nice new style playground playset, two tennis courts, full basketball court, two ponds to fish in, wagon rides, library in the clubhouse, movies shown in the clubhouse on a large screen TV, pool table, video game room, and several organized kids activites on weekends, it sure looks like the kids I see are having a great time.

But those of us with clean, well cared for rigs that are over 10 years old need not apply. If a RV 'gated community' is your idea of relaxation and RV life, you can have it.

The rest of us will avoid such snobbish places. I don't think that I should have to submit to a rig inspection, show my bank balance, or have my D&B and Equifax run just to park in a so called 'resort'. My money is as green as that of anyone else. I just don't have enough on hand to buy a Prevost conversion for cash.

I meet a better class of people in state parks and Forest Service campgrounds anyway. So what if there is no swimming pool. I have one of those at home.

We always see several RV's there that are over ten years old and others that are less than 25' long.

Careful, don't speak for everyone. The RV Park is on their third expansion and I can count at least four other similar style parks that have been built in about a 100 mile radius in the past few years. I'm sure there are many people who wouldn't choose this type of resort but there is also a growing number who are choosing it.

My wife and I do almost all of our camping in State Parks and thoroughly enjoy it. We have met many nice people and have established life-long friends in the parks. We have also met many nice people at the RV Resort and don't see any difference in the "class of people" at either location.

It is just another option in the many different styles of RV'ing.

"...set the rules and deal with the folks that can't abide by them. Do that, and you can create a great niche for all campers to enjoy."
---
The RV park in question *did* set the rules that it decided were appropriate for its desired market. You many not *like* the rules or agree with them, but, this RV park (and hundreds more that have the same types of rules) obviously doesn't *want* to "create a great niche for all campers to enjoy". As property owners and developers, that's certainly their prerogative.

If an RV park's rules don't fit your family and your rig (and vice-versa), use your wheels and park/camp where you're a more "acceptable" guest!

True, but it's still the "snob" appeal.
They won't let in pop-ups either and the new ones run $10,000 and up.

If that's your cup of tea then go for it. I feel more comfortable with common folks who aren't snobs.
