I've looked up this facility on the BLM website. For those who have been there, how is the water quality? Also, while the web site mentions that you can stay for 14 days at a time, I was wondering if water and use of the dump station were included in the fee, or if that was an extra charge.

Thanks,
Christopher

La Posa is a Long Term Visitor Area. There is a fee of $40 for two weeks or $150 (?) for the season. That includes access to the water well and the dump station. I can't comment on the water quality because we use it for bathing and dish washing only.

There are also area where you can stay for up to 14 days with no fee, but you do not have access to the well and dump station.

FEES / PERMITS REQUIRED: A Long Term Visitor Area Permit is required from September 15th through April 15th each season. The cost is $180.00 and is valid for up to 7 months. A Short Term Permit can be purchased for a 14-day stay. This permit is $40.00.

I see a lot of guys runing the water through filters. Sometimes as many as 3.

The 14 days is the short term stay. I believe it was $40 this year. You can do the long term stay. Not sure what that cost is. It does include water and dump. I've never used the water but the line is long everyday so it must be good.
