As I suggested before, don't use coax. Use Svideo or composite.
Some local broadcasts are strong enough to interfere with coax.

Quote: Some local broadcasts are strong enough to interfere with coax. If you get 100% shielded coax...makes NO difference what they call it. If local signal is so strong that it is feeding thru coax, it is feeding directly into converter box or directly into tv tuner and no fancy named coax is going to fix that. For short runs rg 59(full shield) will work just fine for you, otherwise use rg-6 like you have at home...or you can lighten your wallet and pay more with fancy packages at the electronics stores. But real cure is to find your interference source before buying anything more.

I guess it's too much trouble to try S video.

Been there many times. Donno how much that would help though. It works fine at home.
Haven't really seen where anyone talks about dishes in the RV's though.
But I'll check.
Haven't seen any discussions about RV installs but I think that if it's a issue with the receiver or connections they may be able to help. At least I hope they can.
Good luck,

You say you're using the RF coax connection on channel 3. Is there a local channel 3 over the air station at the campground and not at home? If so, that could cause interference. Maybe try changing the receiver output and TV to channel 4? There is often a switch on the back of the receiver to select the RF output channel.

If the picture is fuzzy when you are at the signal stength screen try using channel 4 instead of channel 3 or vice versa. In one campground I had to switch. The receiver should have the option to use either. If your problem is electrical noise being generated by your coach, most likely suspect would be Battery charger, converter or inverter.
Also make sure you are using the proper cable between the receiver and the switch box. It has to be a higher grade than the cable that connects the receiver to the TV.

Have you checked to make sure you are on the right channel, Most Dish receivers with RF out can use either 3 or 4, Make sure you try both channels on the TV
You may need to "Fine tune" the tv on the proper channel, depending on the make and model of TV
The cable used in many motor homes I'd not give you a plug nickel for It is worth more as scrap than for signal transmission, But considering the length of this run, you should not be having this problem.
I gather you have a video switch box with many switches.. This is good. Actually makes life easier
Also, if your TV has direct video in.. Try that method, from the video out (And audio out) jacks on the back of the receiver (Coded red, white, yellow) to the matching jacks on the TV
Then select either LINE IN or AV-IN on the TV (goes by both names)
Nothin adds excitment like something that is none of your business

Yes, the video switch with all the switches. Just tried going to channel 4 on DTV receiver and tv. Same if not worse.
Went to DTV with red, white, yellow. Believe it or not there are only composite in the back of the LCD. Blue Green etc. Which shocks me.
Man O Man. enough messing with it today. It has got to be some sort of interference. Tackle again tomorrow I suppose before the race.
I do want to thank you all for sending your ideas this way.

Well, I cant figure it out.
Tried both dishes. Portable and dome. slightly fuzzy picture both TV's
Tried with NO dishes hooked to the receiver. Set up or searching screen fuzzy.
Tried bypassing the switch box.
Tried unhooking power to coach and tried the Genset.
Tried both channel 3 & 4
Came home and tried it on the Genset. Didnt even wait to find the sat. as the setup screen was fuzzy.
Take it into house? Crystal clear.
I WISH I still had one of my old Receivers activated. I know they were clearer but I tossed them anyhow I think.
I could take out the living room receiver but it is a HD DVR. A LOT of stuff hooked to it. But if the other Receiver is clear in the bedroom this one would probley do it also.
Man O Man.
Thanks for all your imput guys.

Don,
Wow, what a pain in the .....
s.
ON Edit:
I have to ask... did you try a power cord from your house directly to the receiver and TV with all power off in the coach, including 12 volt? Probably an exercise in futility but I'll ask nonetheless.
